I'm hoping we'll go 11-2 or 11-1 with a bowl win and a win over that other in state team. That being said, I feel if we go 8-5 for the 4th time in 5 years, it will make our outlook for the future not so bright.

Record will be this year and what chance do we really have of beating bammer again in their back yard.

9-3.

Yes, we own bammer in JH West. They're more talented right now overall and definitely have more experience, but we won't be "young" that late in the year. We should be able to hang with them.

I think 9-10 wins is a legitimate goal.  We have the talent, we just need to hope the chemistry and desire is there from ALL members of the team.

As for bammer, I think we can beat them in their house.  We have a great record, historically, in Jordan Hare West, and personally, I think bammer is way over-hyped this season.  I know they like to say they "reload", but losing what they lost to the NFL is not easily replaced.  I think they will finish with a 9-10 season, and one of their losses will be to us.  The other will be to either LSU or Michigan.  I am rooting for Michigan, so that their season starts off with a "L", and maybe they will self-destruct and lose 3-4 more.

BTW, their is an article on BOL about 5 elite prospects committed elsewhere that UA could flip.  Didn't read the article, don't want to, but just think it's funny since several of their top commits seem to have wandering eyes!!!  I guess they don't really want those guys.

I agree with everything you said except about the outlook on the future.  We certainly have the talent and coaching to go 11-2 or 11-1, as you said, but with that being said, there are still some major question marks about the team.  Two new coordinators, lots of new faces on the OL and a new starting QB (these two are very closely tied together).  If we go 8-5, my outlook on the future would depend on why/how those losses occurred.  If we have some weaknesses that are exploited and lose close games, I'd still feel good about us going forward.  If the 2013 season were another 8-5 after four straight top 10 classes and another year in our new O & D, I would question what was going on as a program.  I would also still be ALL IN FOR THE AUBURN FAMILY  :wareagle:

That just can not happen.

AU can not go (4-16) against our biggest rivals in a 5 yr period.  THIS is the year to turn this thing around and get the upper-hand on LSU/UGA/UAT/Arky.

We have experience, talent, depth, and an upgrade in coaching.  If we lose to those 4 teams again this season..... :banghead:

I believe we can look for at least 9 wins. We will be more competitive in every game.  As to the new coordinators I don't see that as a drawback.  We should be in great shape, have better strength and tackle better. JMHO.

We are talented enough, have enough depth, and have the coaching pedigrees to win every single game we play. The numbers and stats might favor our opponent in a number of games, but we have everything we need to win. It will come down to our boys' hearts and determination for each game.

That said, we don't expect a national title to be hand-delivered to us every year like that other school, and our heads are on a bit straighter. I think a 10 win season should be the mark of a successful season. 8 or 9 wins (while still a good/average season) would either be evidence of injuries/bad luck or underachieving in a couple of games. An 11 win season, with a possible SECCG and bowl game added on to the record, is totally achievable.

I tend to agree with keesler. Losing to those same 4 teams this year would approach a back-breaking burden for our coaching staff to pull us out of the 5th-7th place range in the SEC. I would rather our one or two losses come at the hands of any other team (except Clemson, man I wanna beat those guys).

I predict 10-2, with a shot at tiebreaking into the SEC champ. game (I think we beat LSU, lose to UAT, Georgia is 50-50).

I EXPECT no less than 10 regular season wins (a bowl victory should happen too).  I know we have two new coordinators, but that is not an excuse.  We should be much improved on defense with BVG and I don't see how we could be any less productive than we were last year on offense.  Plus, the schedule sets up a little easier this year with the home games.

We should be able to avenge he Clemson and Arky losses from last year and take at least one from either LSU, Bama, or UGA.  I believe that will get us to 10 regular season wins.  Any thing less than that is a disappointment, IMHO.

7-5 to 9-3. We close the gap on lsu, uga and bamr. but not enough to win. Ark and tamu will be tossups. We should win the rest. Although I'm wary of vandy. 2013 will be about the same. With a veteran oline, a senior qb and the schedule in our favor Auburn will get in the playoff in '14.

10 wins or better regular season plus a bowl win. I feel if we can take LSU down we have a great shot at going undefeated and winning another NC.

I think we take Bammer regardless this year. They never seem to play us that well at Cam Newton Stadium.

Again Take down LSU, Take down the world!

I see us going undefeated...seriously!  I feel like the 12' team is going to set the stage for AU football for many yearsfto come.  I see us struggling with Clemson in the first half but the second half our dominance will be on display. We have amazing talent and more depth now.  It's something about this year that has me excited.  Anyway,  War Eagle and let the good times begin!!!!

8-4 if we don't gel fast enough (Clemson game will have a big impact) 11-1 if we gel fast.

40-60 we beat bama if we lose Clemson game.

60-40 we beat bama if we win Clemson game

80-20 we beat Bama if we win Clemson and LSU games. That would also lead to a NC.

Without seeing this team with so many young guys play a game it is hard for me to make a prediction that is why the Clemson game is so important to me.

9-3 regular season, 10-3 after the bowl game.......I do not think this team lacks experience or talent compared to any other team out there. Young, yes they are......but we have many more soph/juniors than last year WITH a season under the belt.

Many people seem to forget that this team has a motivating factor to play for......the late Ed, and DaeDae. These things can bring a team together quickly. A spot in the SEC championship game is not out of the question if you ask me.

My take on the regular season.

12 wins- over achieve

11 wins- slightly over achieve

10 wins- very achievable ( this is my prediction as of today )

09 wins- slightly under achieve

08 wins- under achieve

By the 12th game of the season, the chance of beating bammer= 60/40 in our favor imo.

As of today, I think we will win them all!

BTW, I checked the following team blogs and this is what some of our opponent's fans think as of 6/29/12:

-UGA: "we'll win them all"

-uat: "we'll win them all"

-LSU: "we'll win them all"

-Arky: "we'll win them all"

-Vandy: "we'll get to a bowl game"

Interesting how other team's fans feel about things in June... ;D

For sure losses to LSU, UGA, and BAMA and one loss to either Clemson, ARKY, @ MSST, or TAMU

8-4 regular season.....write it down.

You just did write it down. How on earth do you get any "for sure losses" -- unless we forfeit?

:dunno:
