What would you like to see done to improve Jordan-Hare stadium?

Me personally, I don't care about adding more seats. I just want the stadium we have to look awesome. Looking at some other SEC schools and what they have done: Alabama and Tennessee for instance, have a lot more seats but  what impresses me  is the new brickwork around their stadiums. Another thing is the food courts and just the clean modern appearance. We did a little of that, but we need to do the endzone areas and hide all that steel skeleton. I'd like to see another jumbotron for the other side to replace the old looking scoreboard. I'd like to see better food options with food courts maybe. Flat screen TV's around so you don't miss the action when you are getting some food or going to the bathroom. I know many have stated the sound system needs replacing badly. What else would be nice to see?

Definitely a better sound system. We have our seats in the upper deck (I actually love our seats, you see everything!!!), but I have a hard time understanding some of the things that are announced over the sound system. I would also love to see better food choices. In the upper deck, it is basically hot dogs and hamburgers and not much else. I know they like to let different groups man the concessions, but couldn't they still do that and offer something other than generic food? I'm okay with the stadium looking like a stadium. I feel weird when I go places like the Georgia Dome to watch a game. It just doesn't feel right. No place as good as "The Football Palace", Jordan-Hare!!!

With all of the construction around campus in the last few years, it would be nice to see the exterior upgraded to somewhat match the brickwork of other new buildings. Something like the exterior of Plainsman Park. An upgrade to the vending facilities would also be nice. Once inside Jordan Hare , I personally think it is as nice as any.

Yeah, the only thing I can really think of is to upgrade the exterior to hide the steel beams.  But if you enclose it completely, I'm afraid it would cut off some breeze and the concourse could be unbelievable hot and humid.  Maybe drape a fabric or some type of breathable material around it?

I agree! My parents had season tickets into their early 70's and they were 3 rows from the top of the stadium. They never could get the tickets moved down and had a very difficult time getting up there, especially since both of them had breathing problems. I know that when they gave their tickets up, some other lucky people got to buy them, but it would have been nice to have a place down in the lower deck that was more accessible to the youth challenged folks! Especially since they had been fans for so long!!!

This has been set up for over 20 years in my will certain AU people are aware of it and has been approved. As for the golf course spreading will have to be done under the cover of darkness

I do want to see an increase in seating, but not to start with. First, as you guys have been talking about, I'd like to continue to upgrading the outside appearance, though I have been very pleased with the murals and statues and such that have been added thus far. The sound system NEEDS to be upgraded, but I think the old scoreboard is okay for now.

One thing I've wanted to happen for some time now is an upgrade of the seats. I feel quite certain that it won't happen because it would take away from much of the allure of the orange seats, but the bleachers don't do my back any favors, and the stadium seats don't help a whole lot either.

A cemetery so I can be laid to rest in awesomeness and my funeral can be complete with some loud intro music, rocking crowd, smoke/fog. I mean hopefully that's way off and everything seeing that I'm 22 but I'm just saying. Good idea right? War Eagle.  :laugh:

If you are going to expand seating capacity and do some facade changes too, I say do them all at the same time.  All the construction activity can be very disruptive.  AND I AM ALL IN FOR SEATS WITH BACKS ON THEM!  The concessions are very blah...but I love the $4 concession stand in the south endzone.

Hotdog...$4

Hamburger...$4

Popcorn...$4

Coke...$4

That is gross! You want the players to not know they are rolling over golf, and getting pieces of him in the fabric of their uni's they will wipe their sweaty faces on?  :o

Specifics aside, I remember Pat Dye just making sure that OUR stadium was always better than THEIR stadium. Tubs really had no ambition in that direction and put us in the hole. Now we are behind a good bit. We DO need more seats, not more luxury boxes. Recruits want to see and hear the fans, not see elitists behind the glass. THAT is what makes a stadium daunting to opponents. We need much more student seating. I know lots of students were unable to obtain tickets the last few seasons and that is plain wrong. People say we cannot fill the seats but I would like to propose an idea with twofold benefits. Add the end zone seats. Then supply inexpensive or free seats to Boy Scouts, Youth groups, churches, handicapped kids, underpriveledged kids, police officers, firemen, nurses groups, teachers, etc. We will gain thousands of new, young fans and the goodwill of others, and these fans would be enthusiastic!
