Maverick.AU 13,290
I just found a link that showed AU moved down from 9th to 14th in the Toughest Places to Play rankings for NCAA 13. SEC Blogger Chris Low once said " I've never seen a stadium hold that kind of electricity from beginning to end". Now tell me how Boise St. gets into the top 10, but Jordan Hare's intimidation factor is rated about the the same as South Carolina?? The NCAA's hate for Auburn continues.... Maverick.AU 13,290
What would you rank Jordan Hare in terms of the toughest places to play in college football? My personal opinion is in the top 5-8 most feared stadiums in CFB. I was curious because the NCAA 13 game dropped auburn from 9th-14th in this years rankings. I just don't get how Boise could be in the top 10 and AU would be 14th just in front of South Carolina!?!?!?

Maverick.AU 13,290
Well I still think if you go by records, and what recruits/visitors have said I don't see how anyone could put it outside of the top 5-10.
FoleyLion 0
I dont think you can rank stadiums in a top 10 or whatever but in tiers because on any given saturday any stadium in the nation can be the toughest depending on the opponent, time, and implications to the season. I would put Auburn in the top tier with Michigan, OSU, Oklahoma, Texas, USC, ect. But most of the SEC schools besides say vandy, ole miss, and kentucky can get just as loud and crazy so most of the SEC would be in that top tier too. wareagle13 88
Im pretty sure Boise state has only like 3 losses this century at home. It's not an overwhelmingly intimidating place to play, the blue turf freaks some teams out, and they've loaded up on Cream puffs

If Boise State had to play ower schedule year in and year out, they would not have just 3 losses this century. I think one of the reason Boise State is considered a "feared" opponent is that any team worth its salt is not supposed to lose to them. Imagine if any top tier SEC school went into Boise and lost. SEC would all of a sudden not look so tough. And if the SEC school wins, they were supposed to anyway. So, in terms of risk-reward, it's just not worth it. On those grounds, I'd say you could call Boise State a "feared" team.

GoCrazyAuburn 0
You have to realize, NCAA runs most of that stuff off of W/L records and current streaks. The really don't factor how wild a stadium gets in all that much, considering it doesn't play a huge factor in the game.

If a UT fan even tries to say it is louder than Jordan Hare(and you better believe they will) the most appropriate response is to laugh in their face. Tiger n Miami AU83 25
We have no way of answering this question objectively. We all love Auburn and most of us have not been to many other stadiums. Having been too all of the old SEC stadiums except for UF, UT, and Vandy I can say the only one that I think comes close is LSU. Sure UGA and bama are big but they just didn't get crazy like JHS and Death Valley. I have been to Samford, Tiger Stadium, and the Swamp multiple times over the years (haven't been to BD since the last expansion). IMO, the Swamp is the loudest of any stadiums at peak noise and it is due to the architecture. The stands are VERY close to the field, right behind the benches (unlike JH because when Cliff Hare was built it included a track around the field). Then the stands at the Swamp have a higher vertical rise and the triple deck endzones that help trap the noise. When Tiger stadium gets loud, it is about like JH to me, so I consider JH and TS similiar noise wise when the crowd is in a frenzy. All that said, I say JH maintains a higher noise level than any stadium in the SEC for a big game. JH often rocks continuously while TS and the Swamp tend to have high peaks, but not as much consistant noise from the fans in big games as a big game at JH. Oh yeah, about forgot Samford. Been to about 5 AU/UGA games there and have never been overly impressed. The bulldog fans are front runners to me. When they are rolling it is relatively loud, but not louder than the Swamp, JH or TS. When the puppies are not rolling, it is a joke crowd noise wise. It is a pretty stadium though. BHGS (Gainesville) was as loud as I've witnessed when we were there in I think mid 2000's--we missed a makeable field-goal to win. I think it was Zooks last year. I believe that the stadium config and flat concrete surface in the turn of the end zone helps the noise to continue. It was as lound as I've heard and I've heard JHS at what I believe to be some of it's best--1989 Iron Bowl, Barn Burner, 1st overtime with UGA and water sprinklers on Uga, win over #1 UF, etc.
NoALtiger 3,938
Like everyone else here, of course I'm biased toward AU in, well, every way possible. That being said, I've been to every football stadium in the SEC except UK and I would honestly give us the #2 spot in the league right behind The Swamp. The JHS enviroment, crowd noise, fan experience- everything that makes us love AU is represented every home game to the fullest extent. It is simply an impressive sight to see come game day period. BTW, the whole Boise State deal is a complete and utter joke.

We went for the Cal game to start the 2006 season when they routed Cal 35-7 or something stupid, and that was the loudest I've ever heard a stadium until Jordan Hare vs West Virginia in 2009 (maybe Iron Bowl 2009). 100,000 people screaming for a WINNING team is pure intimidation. So stop with the hatred. War Eagle.

Most of the fans are on par with bama fans as far as arrogance. There are some good ones though that aren't so arrogant and fairweather. Every game I have been to at Neyland they sit A LOT, boo their own players, if they are getting beat they will be filing out at halftime or 3rd quarter. If it's raining they go home. When it is loud it is in spurts, not consistent at all. It's not like I went to one game and came away with my opinion though. I lived amongst the dirty trolls for 15 years from age 3 to 18. I don't even hate the actual team. I absolutely can not stand their fans though.
3rdgeneration 6,638
Can anyone describe to me how much louder JH is in the lower deck vs. the upper deck? Our season tickets have always been in the upper deck and it feels loud up there, but I can only imagine the difference!
aub4life 33
I've had season tickets on the lower West side for 16 years now and it's loud. Unfortunately, a lot of what I hear comes from the opponents sections just because of the angle. I sat in the upper East deck a few times and HATED it. I was almost silent.....seats were above the band and student section and all that sound goes across, not up. I had seats in the upper West deck in 1989 for AU vs. UF. And I am telling you, when Slack hit Wasden for that TD with 26 seconds to go, it sounded like JH exploded! Even in the upper West deck, I couldn't hear my Dad who was sitting next to me. It was AUsome!! BTW, did you know that one of the TAM traditions is not ever sitting down during the game? Can't wait to see that. I've had people asked me to sit down during a game. Say what? No! Go home - and give the seat to someone who will stand up and yell their brains out - kinda like I do
