Young Players to Play Big Role

There are a large amount of young players on our team that haven't gotten any time on the field, or had very little time. Of the large list, which player(s) are you most excited to see out on the field this upcoming season?

I'm pretty pumped to see Kris Frost. Also, Shon Coleman. Very happy that he made it through his fight to cancer, and I'm sure he'll be ready to wreak havoc on the field.

Looking even further ahead, I'm getting really amped up about the direction of our defense. The way our 2013 class is looking as of now shows that a lot of talent will be coming onto our defense. And with only 13 recruits on the list, there will definitely be more talent added.

I'm most looking forward to Dee Ford and Mike Blakely

Dee Ford and Nosa Egua...two sides of a pair of vice grips!  Can't wait to see them blast opposing QB's.

G-Rob, Westy, Grant, Coates, Frazier, Bray, Ford, Sigler, Wright, Owens, Frost, Cassanova, Holland, Florence, Therezie, Whitehead.  I know that's a lot but we have a lot of young, talented, and hungry players.  I'm anxious to see if they play to their potential.  I'm sure some will surprise and some will have growing pains.  :we:

I can't wait to see Blakely out there either! I bet he's eager to play after having to sit out last season.

I'm looking forward to seeing Jovon Robinson the most. It's tough to say where he'll fall in this season with all the RB talent, but I think he will make it hard for the coaches to redshirt him.

This might be one of them to make an impact. I just love confidence like this as long as they can back it up.

Sorry, but I don't understand all the hype about Eguae. I don't even know if he'll start this year. He's got 3 sacks in two years, and he didn't record a single sack all of last year. I know there's more to playing the position than rushing the passer, and if he's one of our better run supporters, then fine. But we need more production out of Eguae in his third year as a potential starter.

Not trying to make excuses for Nosa, but two years ago he was a freshman playing behind seniors and last year there was no ying for his yang on the other side last year after DF got hurt.  Nosa took on the opponent's best most plays last year, but this year they will not be swapping sides (strong side vs. weak).  When DF starts killing QB's, the offenses will double him up...that will leave Nosa to meat cleaver the QB from the other side...and vice-versa.  Just you wait and see.

Ummmmm Dee Ford will not start over Lemonier. The starters will most likely be CL and DF, with Equae coming in for both......

Agreed. Seems like a few of y'all forgot about our most productive DLineman to date. I've always been a fan of Nosa but I'm not sure if he'll start over Dee this year... Certainly not over Lem.

I'll be shocked if Lemonier and Ford aren't the starters with Nosa, Owens and possibly Sanders and Delanie rotating in.  This is probably our deepest and most talented position on the team.

I am looking forward to watching the Dline as the game gets close to halftime and into the 2nd half. After CL and DF have the opposing OTs punch drunk Craig Sanders will be like a bull in a china shop. I think he will have a GREAT year despite not starting....I feel like gettin out my old HS helmet, gettin in a three point stance and hittin somebody!!!

At DE, Lemonier and Ford will get the start but it's not as important who gets the start as it is that AU will have 6 very talented fresh DEs coming at the opposing OLs in one wave after another.

To the OP, Lots of young players to step up this year:  on OL you have Robinson and Westerman and maybe a true frosh or two.  On DL you have Wright and Blackson and even Sigler at DT and Ford and Owens stepping in at DE.  At LB Frost will come into the picture at some point.  Whitehead and Therezie at DB.  Frazier at QB, and Mason, Grant, Blakely, and Robinson at RB.  Bray at WR, and maybe a frosh or walk-on there too.  Add Prosch at FB and that is 16 new impact players for the season.

Im excited to see them all, but Im most interested in Frazier, Louis, Cass & Jovon. Frazier only likely starter in the group but I expect all to contribute.
