With out going into much details I will tell you this, Never at 19 years old should you drive to Columbus from Auburn, with 6 of your closest friends and go into a one on one massage parlor.  :-X

I never did the following, but "am told" of AU students attending a strip joint in Columbus, sneeking out with very private parts of said strippers' clothing, and being chased out of town.

Well I was told a bunch of us went to Columbus To watch a Astors minor league game on nickel beer night. The pitcher had a complete game no hitter. .....problem was none of us remembered it.

Did anybody do Nichols Alley and $.05 beer night? I think it was usually in conjunction with wet tshirt night.

I did! It was great fun. $2.00 entry fee and nickel beers. I went out with a girl that entered the Wet T contest. Was I cool or what!

Do not go to a party in Phenix City where the girls are late coming and you get hammered waiting. Then you make out on a roof (after the girls arrive of course) and jump into your car back to AU and forget how you got home or who you were with.  Happened to me..

Little Joe's in Columbus, was a demon in disguise. :)

And what's worse is that it's probably more and you just don't remember most of it...

Ok, since this thread is completely off topic and sure to be moved I'll chime in on the new topic.

I recall when a couple of carloads of us went over to Columbus and watched some showgirls.  Not sure what year it was, but the highlight of the show was when all three dancers did a routine to Rod Stewart's "Do you think I'm sexy?".  So early 1979-80 maybe.  Anyway, some soldiers showed up and chased us away from the stage then it turned into a scene from Stripes.

About a year later the guys wanted to go back and I said "no thanks".  The next morning I was on the way to work driving down I-85 south near the old Opelika exit and saw one of my buddies hitchhiking at about 7:30 in the morning.  Turns out that he got separated from the pack and had to thumb his way back home.  No cell phones back in the day.  As we are traveling down to Auburn he kept worrying about getting sick in my car.  Not as worried as I was.  At one point I noticed that he had something in his hand and he showed me a paper Hardees french fry bag with the the word "Auburn" written on it in pencil.  He said that he was holding it out so folks would know where he needed a ride to.  True story.

Good luck on your move AUQBDad.

I was born and raised in Phenix City. I drove to Auburn! Lived there a graduated, and then drove back home. The only time I went home was to get the "ilegal" keg(s) for our frat party's. I never knew they partied in Phenix City. If I had known it I would have driven home more!

Any Mod that messes with it I will bring Greg, Christian, John, Reese, Gabe and Angelo to their  house and make them feed them until they are full.

I would have to refinance the house for those appetites. You must have to shop in bulk from Sam's Club.  Keep a bunch of protein packed snacks, like Sasquatch(sp) beef jerky or some special k protein bars.  Those are like buying gold though.

I'll chime in, my first trip to a "club" in Columbus was to a little know place that I will always remember but not repeat the name on here.  First word was something a naval person would wear.  Anyways, my much older roomate drug me over for my 19th birthday, it was a friday and it was a good time, but the club was relatively empty.  Well after this escapade I decided to take a group of friends that were my age over a few weeks later...  on a Tuesday... before thanksgiving...  Lets just say the 'quality' (loose term) girls were not working.  They had conversations about their boyfriends and doing drugs while doing their thing.  It was terrible and It was my last trip to a club of that nature and I have been tortured by those friends every since.

Sorry for starting the snowball of this thread AUDad but when I think Collumbus, that is all I can think of. Also, it made me realize that it's been too long since I talked to those 6 guys and made some calls last night and refined my story (it gets better every time I tell it). One in Denver one MIA, one in Cali, One in New Mexico and 2 that live within 20 miles of me. So, to come full circle the Auburn family has a little  :partey: history in Columbus, Hope you make some history of your own..War Eagle!

I only went to the clubs in Columbus a couple times.  If I wanted to hit up an "orphanage", I'd generally go to Anniston, because I was friends with a dancer up there.  Fun times....fun times.
