Auburn: What To Expect?

Gene Chizik begins his fourth season on the Plains with some new faces with new philosophies.  With these changes come questions.....what to expect from the defense? the offense?  How will Auburn respond to their tough schedule?

I think this is fair.  The winner of the Ark / Auburn game will still be a step behind LSU and Bama and will most likely end up 3rd in the SEC West.

The first 5 games will be the key to how our season will go. During the first 5 weeks, we'll play 3 SEC west games.

The LSU and Arkansas games are in Jordan-Hare.

Sept. 1st

AUBURN/Clemson

Sept. 8th

AUBURN/Miss. State

Sept. 15th

AUBURN/Louisiana-Monroe

Sept. 22nd

AUBURN/LSU

Oct. 6th

AUBURN/Arkansas

I agree but like I've said on here so many times that our team team will only go as far as the o and d line go....talent wise the is no drop off from the top teams in the country....the only thing I question is the strength speed and experience that is to be expected of a still very young team

I've been saying this for months...to me it all hinges on what we get from the QB position. Obviously some of that has to do with the offensive line, but it begins and ends with the QB. Personally, I find it nearly impossible to gauge wins and losses or predict how a season will go when the QB position is a question mark.

When guys talk about the o line and d line it's like no matter what if any good happens it will be because of o line/d line and if any bad happens it will do the same.  Nobody will ever say there is a good offense but but a bad o line or vice versa so essentially every year it will be same things said as far as if we have a good o line we have a good year.  It's just one of those things that goes hand and hand

I feel the opposite.   Auburn has a QB with the talent to get the job done, but the QB will only be as good or just one step better than the O-line.

If the O-line is average I expect good qb play,  If the O-line is good I expect great things from the QB,  but if the O-line is bad (The Spring game worries me) the team will struggle.

O-line,  D-Line are the most important part of a team IMO.

AU will be a young but very talented team, and likely somewhat inconsistent at times.  This will be a transitional year, with many young players stepping up to contribute.  I kinda think it is like the golf term for the 3rd day of tournament being referred to as moving day.  This is a season that AU steps forward and positions itself for future success.  Likely producing a surprise and serving notice, but also frustrating at times, and exposed on a few weak spots still.

It's not an opinion. Games are won and lost in the trenches

One of the worst and most uninformative and obvious articles I have ever read. The article pretty much said everything that any normal Auburn fan would know.

You are right. Frazier definitely has the talent to get it done. But you can't honestly say you KNOW how he will perform. No one knows that. We've seen him throw what, five passes in his career??  There is nothing to base anything on.

I always beleved you have too be strong up the middle, weather baseball, football or what ever. I think we are or going to be on off. and def.

Experience has the big question mark. IMO

How many games do you have to play before YOU think someone has experience...just curious since you and others bring this up a lot.

Of course.  One of the favorite terms in football.  But am I really to believe that there hasn't ever been an offense that was productive and the weakest part of the o was the o-line?  A team hasn't ever won without a good d line ever?  I don't know.......

We have all said the same things over and over for the last several weeks regarding what it will take to have a good year. Those things are fairly obvious to most of us. I have factored in all of that to answer the OP's question. What can we expect ?

10 wins

Depends on what team they are talking about.  If it's Auburn, experience is three years in the system. If it's any other SEC team, one year will do.  :-\

This is CGCs team. He has had 4 yrs and the benifit of a NC in recruiting. I will be ok with 9-3 this year because 2013 is the year I expect greatness.

Why we didnt find a JUCO QB with exp for this year is beyond me. If we start rolling back and forth mosley/frazier we are in trouble.

Meh, decent writeup, but a fairly mainstream view of things. If we win just 8 games this year, it will be disappointing.
