The Amazing Spider Man?

Anybody see it?

Thoughts?

Looks interesting, but I'm not really sure if I wanna go see it. I kinda liked the old Sam Raimi ones..

My daughter saw the movie last night.  Said that it was a disappoinment at best and her tickets were free.

Yeah, I've heard this a good bit, but my brother and a friend of mine saw it and said they enjoyed it.

Decisions, decisions.

I think I'll save my money for Dark Knight Rises. The new spider-man movie looked like a decent DVD rental but I wasn't sold on going and paying to see it. Now I know I'm not.

I'd like to see the new Spidey just because it is supposed to be better with following the comic book mythology; I suspect that negative reviews have been the result of people becoming attached to the ones that came out a decade or so ago, which were all in all disappointing to me.

That having been said, I'm with you 100% about The Dark Knight Rises. That's the one I've had circled on my calendar for a long, long time. I really want to see The Avengers, which I haven't yet, but this latest incarnation of the Caped Crusader is by far my favorite of the comic book genre, and I LOVE movies made from comics. Batman Begins was my favorite when it came out, and The Dark Knight blew it away (Heath Ledger's joker was just on an entirely different supervillain level). The only concern I have is that Rises won't be able to live up to The Dark Knight, but Bane looks infinitely more convincing in this version than he was in Batman and Robin, where he was Poison Ivy's puppy dog.

I do have to give a shout out to Iron Man though, while we're talking comic book movies. I don't think it holds quite the same theatrical allure as the Batman movies, but it's a much more fun movie to watch, and Robert Downey Jr. is phenomenal. The way that whomever controls the rights to Marvel movie rights set up the Avengers was truly outstanding, and is something that can probably be milked much, much farther than it has been.

You haven't seen The Avengers yet?

I'll probably get bashed, but it is definitely my favorite super hero movie, and I have seen all of the ones you mentioned. I thought Marvel brought the entire Universe together in an incredible way. Very well done in my book.

That's why I'm interested in TAS. I knew the remake was going to be focused more on the comic book stories. Also, I heard the new movies were going to be darker since the Sam Raimi films were more family oriented.

Avengers was...Disapointing.

I know this topic is mainly about superhero movies, but if any of y'all want a laugh, go see the new Madea. I just saw it and I must say it was pretty freaking hilarious.

I do want to see it, I just haven't had the chance to yet. I agree that it's really cool the way they brought all the heroes together from the different movies.

Just found out about the Man of Steel movie that's coming out in the next year or two, and that one has be STOKED, because I was disappointed with Superman Returns, and it was my favorite comic growing up, so...

I thought the Avengers was the best comic book movie ever.  Definitly better than Iron Man 2 and any Hulk.  The Batman movies were good and I look forward to Rises but I do not think it will be as good as Avengers.  I do not do comics at all and I think that wether you read comics are not is really gonna determine your opinion of some of the movies.  If directors are smart they will stray from the comic book story line if necissary. That is the best way to make money on the movies.
