No problem red and yea he's the only writer I read on there

Barrett Sallee is a fantastic writer on BR....seems like they're actually moving to more of a legit platform.

I didn't realize our senior leadership on the defense was in the LB corp.  The article actually got me pumped up about the linebackers since we've been hearing for a while now how the LBs will be one of our weakest links. Is it September yet?  I'm ready for the season so I can see the cubs from last year transform into Tigers before my eyes.  War Eagle!!

Anybody have a time machine they'll let me borrow for a couple of months?

I like the positive spin the article is able to put on the LB situation. I'm not sold that LB will be a position of strength next year but if your able to put a positive spin on something then that means there are some positives to spin right?

Bottom line on LBs is we have three guys who have proven they can hold their own in game situations. One of those guys is small (Bates) the other was injured most of last year (Holland) and the third has been a career spot starter and missed all of spring with an injury (Evans). Everyone else we are just hoping they can get the job done.

Now I fully expect Bates and Holland to have good years if they stay healthy. Bates looked great by the end of last year and Holland had a great bowl game. I think Evans is a good backup but if he is starting then thats concerning. He is a warrior and Auburn man but just not at starting LB level IMO.

I'm hoping the Dline balls out this year to free up space for the LBs but if we lose Bates or Holland for significant time then things start looking grim. Can't wait to see how it all pans out!

The biggest thing about linebacker is that we finally have some depth. I agree about Evans, but I would add that his experience makes up a lot of ground, because it's not as if he isn't an SEC caliber athlete. I do expect Frost to take the starting job away from him, either during fall practice or (more likely) after a few games, but we can go three deep at linebacker without losing too much in talent, even if the backups are mostly underclassmen.

i can't wait to see what Cassanova Mckinzey has in store for us.  Not to put much pressure on an incoming freshman, but there are some pretty high expectations from the coaches that he will see the field early and often................................from what i've read.

I have a feeling it's less about raw talent and more about understanding the defense and doing what they're supposed to do. I hope that everyone gets to the level of understanding that we can rotate through all the LBs.

After reading that, I feel extremely good about our defense. I also remember right after CBVG was hired, hearing David Pollack saying he wouldn't be surprised if Auburn is a top 25 defensive unit this year. That's heavy praise for a defense that has performed the way we have recently. War Eagle!!
