Tough break.  I wish him the best, and hope he can turn it around.

Just like Crowell, decisions he made put him in this position.  Hopefully, they can grow from it and become productive members of society, on or off the football field.

Can't say I'm surprised. Sucks about his attitude towards Auburn leading up to this, but I wish him well and Malzahn well in 2013.

Youth and inexperience are hard to overcome without a measure of humility. I've never been around the young man, but from what you read, he was lacking in modest humility. Pride goeth before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall. I wish him the best.

I wish him the best too - I just don't see it happening though...Mike had his chances and did not take advantage of them...I will be very surprised if he ever plays again....

That is just my opinion...

Maybe Gus can use this summer to mentor MD and help him straight. Wish him the best. He was definitely fun to watch while he was in O&B.

For Gus to be able to that, MD will have to live in his house and pee in a bottle at least once a week...neither will happen.  I wish he could have gotten his act together last fall, but it wasn't to be...what a shame.  Good luck MD...and Gus!

I kinda saw this one coming but still wish the guy the best. he did great things for AU and we will have some of our most memorable replays involving him.  :wareagle:

Because he has fallen without ruining his life (getting in trouble with the law). This may just be what he needs to make him adjust his attitude. I hope so. It is hard for a kid to be humble when everybody puts him on a pedestal. Elite athletes get treated differently from an early age so it is understandable why some become so full of themselves. To me it is amazing how many are able to stay grounded despite so many telling them they are the best thing since strawberry ice cream.

I hope he gets his life together. If he does the football will take care of itself and he will have a long properous career. I wish him the best and thank him for helping us win the NC.

I wish MD the best.  The problem I see is the same problem every college has during the summer.  These guys have too much time on their hands and hang around some, not so good for their careers, people.  I hate to say it but with MD being close to home and not playing next fall (yes he will still be practicing) he will have too much time on his hands and too many old friends pulling him in the wrong direction.  Keep your head on straight Michael.

im making a prediction, not a wish!!!    he never takes another snap of college football!  I will lay odds on that.  He will try going pro in 2013 and may or may not make it.

As expected. I wish him well. Hopefully he gets his act together and performs as well as he should on and off the field. Kid has great talent I hope he doesn't waste it.

The only surprise to me is that MD did not end up at a school where he could play immediately.  He never had a chance to get a waiver from the NCAA at ASU.  This should be a good test of his maturity ....if he will stick it out a year without playing in order to get back on the field.

I think we all forget at times that laws are a step or two behind the folks making and marketing some of this crap the kids are getting involved with.  It is tough trying to get some kids to stay away from it when it is not illegal.  That doesn't make it right but it makes it a little different in that it is arguably more of a maturity problem than a legal problem.

dp....probably you are right and if not corrected, the maturity issues can slip over into illegalities.  The synthetic drugs, having a gun to look "tough", etc.  MD has a chance to gain some maturity.....hope he does is in the year he is waiting to play.  Maybe Mrs Gus will take another shot at straightening him up.

I really hope this young man has someone in his life that knows the

Almighty...and can help him humble himself then everything else will

fall in place.

It's tough keep it away from them even if it is illegal.

I'm starting to wonder if Dyer will ever get back on a college football field. He should have signed with a IAA team so he could play right away. I'm sure Jacksonville State would have taken Dyer in a heart beat.
