This link http://www.topgunqbacademy.com/PDFsVideo/TheMultipleWestCoastSpreadOffense.pdf is a long (over 140 pages in the pdf), detailed explanation of the Spread Multiple West Coast Offense. REInvestingTiger 2
Thanks. Interesting read. I see many many formations and shifts, which I personally like because it serves to force the defense into a more base type of defense and may cause confusion. According to this manual, Looks like the first 15 plays are scripted with many different formations and shifts in order to determine what the defense is prepared for or unprepared for. Don't know if Loeffler will do the same, though I would expect he might. Remember Cam's response to "call a typical play"? I think Cam's response was "36". Doesn't look like that will be the same with Loeffler, as this is a play pulled directly from the playbook. Zoom Houston Right 866 Queen Note: I would doubt that Loeffler will use the same terminology used here, but it does give us an idea of what a play may sound like. Also, you can direct certain WRs to certain routes, like what Gruden did and it may sound like this: Zoom Houston Right 866 H Post Queen on Blue, on Blue, ready break. Thanks for posting. fjenkins 0
This made me The best way to beat a VanGorder defense is to simply dominate them along the line. If an offense can accomplish dominance along the line of scrimmage, then they have a good chance of consistently moving the ball against a VanGorder defensive scheme. Hello, that's how you beat ANY defense. BleacherReport, a bastion of football idiocy.

JoeinPF 94
Manhunter, thanks for the link. I’ve already printed and bound the material and it’s in the small room I go sit in several times a day. By the time the season starts I’ll know the offence like a coach. A note of concern I have about the lack of emphasis being placed on the deep passing game. Part of CGM’s game plan was to go deep several times a game. He used the deep pass to keep the Safeties back to make the run game work. I have yet to hear Coach Loeffler say anything about the deep ball. Added to his silence was the lack deep throws during the spring game. Also, it appears the receivers currently being recruited are the big, physical types which are excellent possession, over the middle receivers but not the burners which can stretch the field vertically. Without a doubt, Coach Loeffler knows what he’s doing. It will be truly interesting to see how the parts fits together to make the entire offence work. Pawmaw 0
Auburn should have a premier rush defense and one of the most powerful rushing offenses in the nation for 2012. This single quote has me fired up and ready to see our boys in action.

Spring games don't mean anything. At best, it's just a public scrimmage. At worst, it can tip your hand early to your opponents.
aujess07 4
This playbook is very friendly to the adjustment of QB's from college ball to pro ball. I admit. I am excited.
Aubie791 0
As I recall, we were very short on DB's in the spring. It looked to me like going deep would have been a bit too easy. It might have made the D look too bad and the O too good. My 2 cents...
TheDob06 443
I still think we will use the deep ball. Honestly though, throwing a long pass is probably one of the easier throws a QB can make because usually you're just waiting until your guy has a step and letting him run under it. Making the precision passes are what takes the most skill since you are throwing into coverages that aren't man on man. I'd rather see us master the precision passing game first since that is likely to be the bread and butter of the offense (along with a very solid run game). You can't throw the deep ball every time you throw the ball so it's probably better to work on the shorter routes first, which if you recall, were almost non-existent in Malzahn's scheme. I think we are going to have a surprisingly good year offensively.

Hold on - this pic actually happening would not come close to the insanity of poisoning trees, teabagging, and making a celebrity out of the tree poisoner. This picture occurring would be a step up.
