Interesting outcomes/success to date for RBs rated in the top 10 overall by ESPN since 2009.

2009

Trent Richardson - #1 RB, 6th overall =  Successful carreer

Bryce Brown  - #2RB, 8th overall = Train Wreck

2010

Michael Dyer - #1 RB, 5th overall =  Mixed

2011

Issaih Crowell - #1 RB, 4th overall = TBD, but not looking good

Malcom Brown - #2 RB, 7th overall = TBD, but so far so good

That's less than 50% (depending on your viewpoint) for top rated talent.  To be sure, talent without character is not good for anybody.

Add Lattimore to that list.  He's a dang good one that will shine this year if he rehabs from his injury.

Agree on ML, but I was just looking at ESPN's top 10.  I guess that's where I went wrong...sources sources...

Bryce Brown was a 6th rd pick for the Philadelphia Eagles, while his collegiate career was a bust, he may very well end up having a great pro career.  I have only read good things about him and his size/speed ratio in Philly camp

That's true.  I was really just looking at top level recruits and the positive impact they had on their school of choice (or choices for Bryce Brown).

Also, I think David Oku was the #1 All-Purpose back a few years back...and is now at Arky State.
