Week 1 Surprises...

We all know there are some surprises (to the media at least) in week 1 of college football EVERY year. What if AU's defense is one of those surprises? How good would that make you feel for our year? With a brand new starting O-Line at Clemson and the possible absence of Sammy Watkins, BVG and the AU defense have to smell blood. I know, for me, it is hard to get used to the fact that AU's offense won't have to do everything. But the more I think about it, THAT is what I grew up watching. I remember as a student at AU in 2004 speaking out loud that you could count on our D providing 7-14 points a game and I can't wait to get back to that. I am prepared for an offensive/defensive balance to be neccessary, but how sweet would it be if we didn't let Clemson score 10? I, personally, would rather see AU win that game 17-9 than 35-27. I will take either though.

I have already made my prediction well known that I think the buzz will be our defensive line after Atlanta. Can you remember Mosely running for his life and the offense couldn't seem to find any momentum during a game? Thats what I see in the near future for Clemson. I have even went as far to say that the starting QB for Clemson will not play a full game. Not wanting any injuries just thinking that he will be in the ice bath for a long time.

I think the big surprises for the media (not us, we're expecting big things) will be the defense as a whole, and KF's QB play. I think we will see an Auburn team like the ones of old that win with stout defense, running all over people, and taking care of the football. The difference will be that I think KF will have a very efficient, turn-over free game. Something like 12-15, 250 yards and a couple of TD's.

Good article, typical bammer responces. Why do I bother reading responces outside this board?  :banghead:

It's going to be an exciting team to watch.

Haha!  Yeah, I find my eyes heading down to the bottom of those pages only to wonder why I did that after reading a few responses.  The devil makes me do it.

bammer responses on bleacher report are almost as bad as al.com. Sometimes i wonder if some bammer fans obsess with hating Auburn so much that they end up loving us deep down. I can tell you how I never spend my days and that is posting stupid comments on bammer articles. Haven't ever even read a bammer article because I just don't care about them!

Averaging about 21 yards per throw? :o

Never commented on them, but I have read a few, they eat their own. They aren't any different twards their own people when their opinions differ than they are twards Auburn people. It's very funny when one of them actually has a more realistic approach to something than the rest instead of their normal swolen head view, feeding Time!  It's good comedy every now and then. so when you get board, Grab some popcorn and head over to AL.com and check out the bammer boards for a good laugh, Especially after a loss, It's hysterical.

On BR, the articles are just as ridiculous as the comments. I like reading stuff by Ian, but I never read anything from Kevin.

Kevin takes sunshine pumping to a whole new level.

Personally, my week 1 surprise would be to have the entire defensive unit kicking the stashe for CVG, ala Lutzie a few years back.

They've lost 6 games in the last 4 years - I'm sure al.com hits meltdown mode when a loss occurs though.
