I was looking at bama's depth chart on rivals, and noticed that they have ole Brent Calloway list at 2nd team

Calloway had a chance to come to AU and tote the rock. He or someone else chose for him to go elsewhere and now he has to live with his choice to go there and become a back up utility player. Sad situation for the kid but it is what it is. Auburn will continue to be a great place for players to enjoy their college years.

If his height is correct, 6'1", why would they position him as a TE ?  He's the shortest by 3" and most of the other TEs are 4-5" taller.

Waste of a good LB even though the UpDykes have plenty.

Just a sad situation the entire way around in that deal. From everything I have heard, he was forced to go to bama. I hate it for the kid. Let's be honest though, who thought saban was a man of his word in the first place?

Not that it matters in the least bit when it comes to Auburn, but, in my opinion, the Calloway thing had zero to do with bammer actually wanting his talents, and EVERYTHING to do with keeping him away from Auburn to save face. Sadly, expect him to be processed out pretty soon I bet. Last thing I will say about it because I really don't care about it anymore.

I wish the kid the best and hope for him that at the very least he can get an education if he will apply himself to getting it.

I wish the young men of this state could look into the future and see the results of the actions of his "guardian" (we should all be happy we didn't have guardians like that), his results when he showed up at the school where the coach promised him the world. That has really worked out well so far hasn't it?

I firmly believe that one day short stuff will get what is coming to him and it will not be pretty. High paid, low rent POS.

In a perfect world, or even a half-perfect world, Saban would be held accountable for what has gone on with recruiting at Alabama since his arrival, and I'm not even referring to what many of us who post here feel have been NCAA infractions (Gadsden Dodge dealership, T-Town Menswear, etc). The Calloway signing---yes, he did originally commit to Bama but switched on national TV to AU, swore his love to AU even when he was taking his OV to Bama, but was taken to some unknown destination in FL by someone who might have been affiliated with a Bama booster and ended up faxing his LOI to Bama; the question of Cyrus K, who, like Calloway, publicly committed to AU on NSD, but ended up in Tuscaloosa; the deal with Taylor and Philon last year who had their commitments literally thrown in their faces by Saban as he got commitments from players he felt were better; the TJY issue, which I for one believe in my heart that AU was set up on that by the Tahd staff, and probably TJY and his family. However, here in Alabama we don't live even in a half-perfect world as far as football goes. All these incidents, while not NCAA infractions, but could be viewed as ethically questionable, have literally been swept under the rug. No one is going to hold Nick Saban accountable because he produces wins on the field, and as long as he does that, anything else is just going to die on the vine.

Someday, simply by arrogance alone, a booster is going to be caught handing out the cookie jar. Someday ,they might pee off the wrong kid. If I didn't think it mattered, I would start taking up a collection to start paying for our own Dodge dealership today.

I do believe something will catch up to them. It has in the past. the probation they were on just ended. At some point, it will happen again. Might be after the current NCAA prez leaves his position, it will happen again.

The problem now is they feel they are above the law and are not even trying to hide the fact anymore, ie: new cars, free house rentals, mortgages paid, free suits.  That is the arrogance of the REC.

From what I have heard he will be playing more of a HB role when they put in that formation.

I have doubts the kid will ever see the field.  Didn't he get caught with weed recently?  We really didn't need that kind of negativity (weed) at AU anyway.

Lots of reporting about that move to H-back from spring practice.  Just very sad, unless there's something we don't know.

Maybe he wasn't good enough at LB?  Maybe he didn't do the work?  Hard to believe, though, because everybody in the world wanted him at that position.  I believe Auburn did, even though we would have tried him out at RB.

That would be nice but it ain't going to happen. The NCAA hasn't done anything to them in 50 years from their own investigations. The only time they got hammered was when logan was caught by the Feds. At that point the NCAA had no choice. But it was the Feds work not the NCAA's.

Here is how it goes when bama gets exposed and it gets in the media.  The NCAA calls bama and asks what is that all about.  Bama says we will check it out and get back to you.  Twenty minutes later bama calls the NCAA and says after a thorough investigation we determined there was not anything to it.  The NCAA says thanks, keep up the good work.

I do believe that is how it goes. However, you left out the part about the gumps eating a samich in that twenty minutes they took to investigate the infraction.

Logan's hand was in that cookie jar and handing them out it seems. Some day, one of them will do it again in a manner that gets them popped.

No doubt in my mind they get away with all but murder and probably have gotten away with that too. (was that the batphone ringing?) Sooner or later the stars will align and it will happen.

With a kid like Calloway it doesn't make a lot of sense.  Bama clearly put a lot into his recruitment.  But they haven't developed him.  Whether he's to blame, I dunno.

If what happened in his recruiting is that he was manipulated to play where he did not really want to play, then his heart might not be in it like it needs to be while he is at bama.
