Non-SEC Conference Projections

I don't really feel like I'm going out on a limb on a lot of these, but here are my guesses as to this year's conference winners:

Pac 12 North: Oregon

Pac 12 South: USC

Big 10 Leaders: Wisconsin

Big 10 Legends: Michigan

ACC Coastal: Clemson

ACC Atlantic: Virginia Tech

Big 12: Oklahoma

IMO the Pac-12 seems like a two-horse race between USC and Oregon. Oregon should still have some weapons but with a new QB and RBs I don't think they'll be able to stick with the polished USC offense.

In the Big 10, I think Nebraska, Michigan, and Michigan State will be the best teams. But with all those teams being in the Legends division I like Michigan in the end. From the Leaders division I'm picking Wisconsin instead of Ohio State because of their schedules--despite Wisconsin losing Wilson at QB.

I think the Big 12 could be a lot of fun to watch this year. With Landry Jones returning to Oklahoma they'll be stout. I also think WVU's Geno Smith might very well be a Heisman finalist by season's end, especially with Tavon Austin giving WVU some extra explosiveness. I'd bet that the de facto Big 12 championship game will be played when Oklahoma visits Morgantown late in the year.

I think Clemson and V. Tech take the divisions in the ACC without too much competition. FSU could make it interesting but they always seem to find ways to choke (that could probably be said for a lot of ACC teams). Clemson's defense can't get a whole lot worse than last year and I think against ACC teams they won't suffer too much from an inexperienced O-line.

Just a few thoughts...trying to guide us through the off season... Let's discuss  ;D

TCU isn't a bad pick. Oklahoma has been some big choksters lately, plus LJ sucked after Broyles went down with an injury. My fellow high school alumni Roy Finch will tear it up at RB though. And WVU just burns too many couches to win this year.

ACC: Georgia Tech over Florida State (GT will surprise a LOT of people)

Big East: South Florida (why is this conference still in the BCS?)

Big Ten: Michigan State over Wisconsin (MSU wins a championship rematch--I'm not just making lazy guesses I've done a good deal of research)

Big Twelve: Oklahoma

Pacific Twelve: Oregon over Southern California (USCw will win the first meeting but I'm calling for Oregon to pull it off in the Coliseum a month later and go to Miami)

South Eastern: Louisiana State over South Carolina

BCS bowls:

BCS National Championship: Louisiana State (12-1 SEC Champ) over Oregon (12-1 Pac-12 Champ)

Sugar Bowl: Alabama (11-1 SEC Runner-up) over Texas (10-2 Big 12 Runner-up) (sorry guys)

Fiesta Bowl: Oklahoma (10-2 Big 12 Champ) over Virginia Tech (10-2 ACC Runner-up)

Orange Bowl: South Florida (8-4 Big East Champ) over Georgia Tech (10-3 ACC Champ) (because the ACC champ always chokes epically in its bowl)

Rose Bowl: Southern Cal (12-1 Pac-12 Runner-up) over Michigan State (10-3 Big Ten Champ) (Rome over Greece  :P)

After looking again at Michigan State's schedule, I agree they probably have the best shot to win their division. Where do you see them losing 3 games though...? @Nebraska, vs Michigan...

I'd also bet a lot of money that Oregon doesn't make the title game.
