lionheartkc 6,150
I'm interested in the discrepancy in number of games played. Per this, we have played 9 more games than USC thought we only have 3 more SEC Championship game appearances and one Nat Champ appearance. Also, GA has 3 more games than us, even though we have the same number of SEC Championship game appearances and our Nat Champ game. And that's just two comparisons. And... yes... Losing Spurrier was, very much, the worst thing to happen to Florida and losing Florida was the worst thing to happen to Spurrier.

dpwspringer 0
Do those standings take into account forfeited games and vacated wins?
Barkchevious 85
That's pretty cool. Very interesting. No doubt there was a top 6 and bottom 6. Was surprised Ole Miss wasn't in the bottom 1-2 teams. Guess they did have Eli for a few years.
SCruzTiger 0
Do those standings take into account forfeited games and vacated wins? Are you kidding? It was published by the Birmingham News. No way they would take away wins from UAT.
AU64 10,122
The most ignored NCAA pronouncement ever is the vacated wins penalty. No one....NO ONE....ever goes back and changes their records to deduct the tainted wins...or to add the new wins to their records. NCAA does't even enforce the ruling. Ohio State had to vacate their 2010 wins but I don't think Michigan ....or even Eastern Michigan has jumped up to claim what the NCAA is theirs. Hold on... a forfeit changes a win to a loss and a loss to win. A vacation doesn't work that way. When you vacate a win, you can't count it as a win, it is like you did not even play the game. But the loser still counts it as a loss. It is weird and seemingly defies logic.
BirdofPrey76 0
Vacated wins are a hollow, meaningless penalty. Seriously, has any school that has received this penalty revised their overall record to reflect it? I don't think so.

As far as vacations go, bama, FSU, and USC are the only ones I recall off the top of my head.

I just saw ESPN flash Saban's record at bama as 50-12, so they vacated those six wins of his like the NCAA mandated.
AUbritt 611
That's interesting. It looks like we should've won more SEC titles, to be honest. 1993 really screws things up: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1993_SEC_Championship_Game. Florida was never any good until Steve Spurrier. Amazing the last 20 years, though.

autodd03 0
A few points... The national champ game doesn't add an extra game...it is another bowl game. The SECCG is the only "extra" game that most teams don't get. Both UGA and Auburn have played in 4 SECCGs. 93 and 94 we would have played 3 more games if not for the sanctions (93 SECCG and 2 bowls). 92, 98, 99, 08 we missed bowl games due to lnon-qualifying records. UGA missed bowl games in 93, 94 and 96 due to non-qualifying records. So the sanctions cost us 3 games that we would have otherwise played. In summary, the difference between AU and UGA is the bowl games (we missed total of 6 and they missed 3). If not sanctioned, teams would be even with AU having one less bowl participation and one additional participation in the SECCG. USCe skipped the bowl game when they brawled with Clemson (Holtz's call). They were also dreadful for a long while and did not qualify for several bowl games.
