around4ever 4,139
Apparently he is transferring to D2 powerhouse, Pittsburgh State. He will be eligible this season.

auburnphan 6,050
Makes sense, I have seen him ranked as high as the 2nd best back in the draft next year, behind Lattimore.

The SandMntTiger 9
Hope it all works out for him. Shame though considering he would've had a shot at being Auburn's all-time leading rusher.

paul 0
Question: Could Dyer transfer back to a D-1 school after playing a year at a D-2 school since he technically sat out a year from D-1 football?

Yes but he won't. He is NFL bound next April.
Barney 10
Well, if he's still into the same habits as he was at Auburn, he better be careful driving around. Their stop lights are on the side of the road instead of over head. Very easy to run a red light.

AUFriction 1,179
I don't know why everyone is wishing him success. He was a thug who fooled our fans/coaches and poisoned our locker room last season. I hope the guy pays for his mistakes. He messed up by being so cocky. He messed up by transferring. Now he is messing up again by trying to fast track to the nfl (when he probably needs another year to develop). He has had multiple chances and messed them all up. Why should we support him?? Wareagletd 0
Because he played apart in the National Championship run. And for that, I am forever thankful. That's why I wish him the best.

auburnphan 6,050
Josh Norris @JoshNorris RT @LukeMatheson: Per an #ArkansasState football coach, Michael Dyer IS NOT transferring. He will go through fall camp with the Red Wolves. If you are going to call someone a thug, I hope you know what it means: a cruel or vicious ruffian, robber, or murderer He is none of these, he liked to smoke pot and had an ego problem. Weegle777 78
Before you judge someone, take into account what they are going through. Mike lost his dad early on in his life and didn't have a father's influence growing up from what I have read. Even though we all have a choice as to whether we go down a bad road or choose a straight path, it's still not an easy thing to grow up without ever having your father give you that confirmation that you have become a man and that he approves of you. Usually kids that don't get that approval go through life with a bigtime chip on their shoulder because they are unsure of themselves and mask that insecurity with cockiness, arrogance, and a me against the world mentality. Trust me, I know what I am talking about.
Elephant Tipper 430
Rather than the need for approval to be given to children being the issue I find the problem is usually a lack of proper instruction and direction derived from a moral compass, ie., told what is right/wrong. Approval in this context, to me, would be encouragement of the child to follow the path of doing what is good which enables them to stand independently when faced with adverse circumstances/opinions such as peer pressure. MD seems to have had very strong, adverse peer pressure. Hopefully being back home ine Arkansas will allow him to be surrounded with friends again who gave him some of the direction he received over the years. I wish him the best. There are plenty of worse people in this world that I can wish badly for. It still bugs me when I think about all that he gave up, but at the end of the day it was his choice. I would still like to see him turn his life around and be successful in life.
keesler 5,957
Mike Dyer is a 22 yr old man - he's not a child. At some point a person reaches the age of accountability and they are forced to choose what path they want to take in their lives. When faced with life altering decisions, he chose his own path and not the path that the godly men at Auburn were trying to show him. He was given chance upon chance to do the right thing, he knew what Coach Chizik expected of him and he chose his own way. He's got a rocky road ahead of him now. aub4life 33
I do wish him success. It is implied in that wish, that he resolves his issues because he will not be successful without doing so. I have watched several of the 2010 games over the last couple of weeks...watching him run the ball was just a pure joy. Always moving the legs, always spinning out of tackles.....AUsome. How I wish he had humbled himself and done what he needed to do to stay at Auburn. Not just so I could watch him play but can you imagine the Auburn legacy and Auburn family he would have had, especially building on top of breaking Bo's freshman rushing record? Maverick.AU 13,290
Just read a couple of articles saying that officials from the D2 school Pitt St. have said Dyer is going to transfer and will likely be able to play the 2012 season under the transfer rules. Arky St. fans are saying its a bunch of garbage, but with Dyer's attitude I really can see this as being true. It just turns my stomach to see a kid with so much talent just wasting it by making stupid decisions.
