Not alot of teeth in this course. Which is disappointing. I love seeing The Open at a course where there is a prevailing wind swirling at about 20-30 mph. Makes it much more interesting.

Same here Weegs.  I want to see this open where the golfers have to squint from all the sand blown at them.  Trying to calculate for cross winds is bad enough but throw in a few vortexes and then you have a REAL match.

I don't know....on some of those fairway, missing all those little pot-hole bunkers was about the same odds as hitting the lottery....and of course the designer was kind enough to slope the fairway so that any shot that got within 5 yards of a trap was automatically guided right into it.

As for Duf...bad break getting the 2 stroke penalty....kind of took the wind out of him I think.

I hate today for Jason. He will be playing on Sunday and has a good chance to pocket some sweet coin. I know he wanted to win it. I wanted him to win it, but today took him out of it. I have always been a big McDowell fan, until I found out he went to UAB today. That love affair is over! I guess I will have to pull for Scott.

Why do you not like UAB?  They hate uat as much as we do.

Because they are just gumpU at B'ham in my book. The biggest gump cousin I have, one of quite a few, went to UAB. (I also have some cousins I consider to be in the 10% of quality bama fans)

UAB could quite possibly hate UAT more than we do.

I may have to re-think my position on UAB then. I only know one UAB grad. Like I said, he is infested with gumpness. Maybe I shouldn't let one spoil it for the rest.

UAB and UAH do not like the fact that uat controls the uofa system.  Neither athletic program is allowed to prosper.  uat is afraid of competition within it's own system.

I do remember, several years ago, I think UAB was on the verge of hiring Jimbo Fisher. But the suits at UA put a stop to that.

That was very painful to watch.  I had to put my hand over my eyes and peek out between the fingers occasionally.  Ugly finish.  Congrats to a great guy in Ernie Els though.

Worst thing about golf is there is absolutely no one else to shift the blame to when things go wrong.  Scott was in shock when it was over...saw him mouth the word..."wow".

It's also the greatest thing about the game of golf. It's an honorable game, the LAST honorable game left.
