sec predictions

after seeing the espn "analysis" on why we will be 6-6 i thought it would be fun to make my own predictions and see how close it is to real life. note the iron bowl i just put a loss for both teams because i didnt think we will win but i just couldnt put the other team as winning. if you want you could take my spreadsheet and edit who you think will win and it would be cool to see what everyone else thinks  :zapbama:

1) I would love to see us 10-2.....but that is with my O&B glasses tho I completely beleive it is possible if this team comes together early.

2) uat will beat mich - but the rest looks good

3) ark will lose to lsu to go 8-4

4) uga will prob lose to mizzou but will beat fl

5) corndogs could run the table if qb play is as expected ---- @ tamu will be a VERY INTERESTING game

6) UT will beat moo state

7) Moo state will lose to tamu

8) Vandy beats UT

9) watch out for uat @arky ---- early season bamas D could struggle and that O isnt built to come from behind, nor is the short one as history points out

everyone is saying that vandy will beat ut but i think if ut can stay healthy (tyler bray and justin hunter) they will be a tough team

I think prediction #9 is bold, but possible. If Arky doesn't fall apart without BP, this could really happen. On the other hand, if it doesn't happen, I think Arky falls apart completely.

For the east the most logical pick is uga BUT the mizzou game looks very tricky for them...I personally this sc will beat uga but lose to lsu and play in atl in Dec......the wild wild west has many ?s....bamma and lsu will be very very good but not dominant like last season.....if our tigers show vast improvement on the oline which will give us better qb play going 10-2 is not out of reach but I think lsu will representing the west going 11-1 with a loss from the turds...I think we will beat bama and arky but lose to lsu and uga

I think USCe and UGA battle it out for the East and to me its honestly a toss up.  Florida may surprise this year but I doubt it.  The West will be...ummm...I think anyones guess is good really.  I think it will be a 4 way race in the West between Auburn, LSU, Arkansas, and the midget squad.  I really like our chances with LSU for two reasons.  #1 they have a new QB.  Yes he is supposed to be good but we will be his first SEC game.  #2 we get them early and at home.  This typically plays to our advantage.  I think we win this one.  I also like our chances against Arkansas.  #1 we have an open date before and #2 AUQBDAD says we will NOT lose this one  UGA is a toss up for me.  I like our chances against the midget squad with their defesive losses.  I think it might come down to LSU and UGA for the SEC this year and whoever wins that will probably be playing for the NC.

i dont see a&m being all that great because 1. they were overrated last year as they could never finish a game 2. they lost their qb and rb and lost a key reciever in fuller 3. they have 9 seniors...2 of which are punters.

unless their defense steps up i dont know how they are going to have a better season than last year (7-6). also side note tannehill produced 4000 of the 6600 yds and their back up had 5 snaps.

You forgot the most important factors:

-They returned almost no starters.

-They replaced their entire coaching staff.

SC wins east

Gut feeling not based on fact but Ga starts to implode. Somebody other than Ga (Fl, UT or Vandy come on) and finished second

West is wide open with a lot of variables.

Auburn beats Clemson and MSU we could go into LSU game unbeaten and beat LSU at home

Auburn loses to Clemson with young players it would be hard to predict how they would react (get pissed and get better or lose confidence).

LSU new QB great O-Line (When running the ball didn't look so good when people knew they were throwing) and great D always could go all the way. If forced to pass could crash against some teams.

Arky - Has potential for great O but last years O-line was a sieve great QB if he O-line gels and he stays healthy. O-line gels could outscore anybody. D is always a liitle suspect. Petrino snafu and whole team could fall apart.

bama has great O-line dependable QB and a stable of running backs. D could be suspect especially at beginning of season.

West Prediction:

LSU with best record loses a game

Winner of Iron Bowl finishes second - I am predicting Auburn with 2 losses

Bama 3 losses

Arky 3 losses

LSU probably wins the west.

SCAR probably wins the east.

LSU probably beats SCAR in the SEC championship.

AU at least 9 wins, possibly more.

TAM starts out well but the SEC grind hurts them in the long run. Bee lucky to be .500 in the conference.

Mizzou will be a shock. Playing in the east will be good for them and they are over .50 in the conference.

Updykes have lost more than they think. They should lose a couple of confernce games.

Goergia has the talent but not the coaching. Like the last few years, one loss will keep them from Atlanta.

Really? Ryan Swope, not to mention the entire offensive line? Don't take ATM for chopped liver.

Come on folks....I am telling you that Lsu will lose 3 games this season. I mean SEC losses. These will be from 1. us  2. Arky 3. TAMU

Bammer: 1. Us 2. Lsu 3. Mizzou

Beyond this, my crystal ball is a bit fuzzy!

I'll bet you as much money as you have that LSU doesn't lose three games. They will be as good if not better than last year.

IMO if Auburn can't beat LSU at home then LSU runs the table.  They will be out for blood after the NC with Bama coming to LSU this year.  And if LSU can't beat them, they will definately try to break them.  I don't see Bammer coming out of Death Valley unscathed (Lacey gonna get broken IMO of course).  So other than a slight chance of TAMU or us beating LSU at home LSU runs table and plays a good USCw team in the NC after beating probably USCe in the conference championship.

As for Auburn I can see Auburn going 9-3 with the losses to LSU, Alabama, and possibly UGA.  Don't know enough about UGA this year to make a prediction, but LSU gonna be talent wise probably head and shoulders above everyone else, but like I said earler when you play Auburn on the plains anything can happen especially if Auburn has at leaast a serviceable run game and defense.  Alabama will probably depend on the wins and losses by both teams up to that point, if Auburn has lost one game, or none then I figure Auburn to mop the floor with them.  If Alabama has 1-2 losses I expect a defensive showdown, but I like Auburn's special teams in that scenario.

prognostication -versus- procrastination

TAMU manages to sneak by LSU, who after 3 easy wins find themselves not quite ready for us... resulting in a tie-breaker sending us to the SEC Championship game....

after we tender  record at a even 3-n-3. Could care less who beats who and represents in the Eze'st-Division

I think Tennessee wins the East this year. They are the only SEC team to return more starters than we do, including their starting QB (who is pretty danged good), it's their third year in Dooley's system, and they miss LSU, Arkansas, AND Auburn. Their lone game against a non-SEC team from a BCS conference is NC State...not exactly a world beater.
