Miami recruiting violtions per Charles Robinson

Just WOW! From the fryer into the oven.

I quickly read it and I am not sure it is all that serious. It seems to be an attempt to link Miami's current coach to the stuff Charles Robinson exposed last summer but also he says that stopped once he broke his story.

My take was Golden used an equipment manager, and right hand man to Shapiro, to help recruit. I am not an expert on recruiting, but I believe only coaches can recruit. That in itself is a recruiting violation. The second paragraph states Golden knew this recruiting violation was happening and went ahead with it. Further in the article it states...  "One former Hurricanes staffer told Yahoo! Sports that Allen was used specifically by members of Golden's staff as an "off-the-books" recruiter. As part of those duties, the staffer said Allen kept tabs on Miami-area kids, including making calls about their recruitment, and on some occasions, supplying improper transportation to and from campus that aided Miami in its efforts to gain a commitment from some prospects"....So the NCAA is investigating the U for paying players, and the next coach comes in and knowingly commit's recruiting violations? The U will have the book, and kitchen sink, thrown at them.

Maybe, but one person's "right hand man to Shapiro" might just be another person's "equipment manager" and one person's "off-the-books recruiter" might just be another person's "gopher".  Sometimes these things are all in the eye of the beholder.
