Yesterday was amazing!

So, I went to Auburn to get some more tattoo work done & ran into some players by chance.  (Shenanigan's is the place, if you are interested.  This is the same place Ziemba and Byrum got their work done).

Anyway, I noticed two big guys in the back with Leah Farrow, one of the tattoo artists, and it turns out is was Patrick Miller and Reese Dismukes!  Patrick was getting a huge arm piece and Reese was just hanging out.  Both guys were extremely nice to say the least.  I shook hands with both and it felt like shaking hands with giants!!

I really didn't want to chat too much about ball considering practice is starting up in a few weeks and I'm sure they get approached often but Patrick stated he was probably starting OL this year but that he had a Senior in his way that knows the whole playbook.  So, he has lots of learning to do but felt confident of his chances this year. This kid is big, confident, and pretty damn cool, too.  Reese didn't really talk to much but was nice as well.

Earlier in the day, I was at the Tuskegee gun range and my friend introduced me to Wes.  Yeah, that was Wes Byrum blowing targets up with a AR-15.  Pretty cool day for me!  It's little things like that make me appreciate these guys more and more!  Now can we get on with season!  Thought I would share...

I met Patrick Miller, as well as his parents, at A-Day.  You're correct - that boy is "huge".  Hope he works hard and gets into the playing rotation.  His parents, aunt and uncle were extremely nice people.  His mother had me teaching her "Bodda Getta"....she was cool.

So he ISN'T transferring?  :dunno: What the heck... I was sure the insiders had it right!

*And thanks for the story, I like reading about the day to day Auburn encounters. I miss being able to see these guys being people around town. WDE

The insiders on AE didn't say he was transferring.  Be careful where you get your info.

I don't believe I said anything about AE, and that was a joke. Yellow is the sarcasm font color, maybe I should have used it...

That's pretty awesome! I have my doubts about Patrick starting over Sullen (I'm guessing he would start at tackle and Slade would move inside to start at guard, but :dunno:), but I do LOVE the confidence. If nothing else, he's going in with the mindset of "I'm gonna win this job!"

If Mr. Miller has been taught how to use that 6' 7" frame for leverage he will be hard to beat. Starting a freshman because of depth problems = bad. Starting a freshman because he beat out a senior = good.

I love the confidence in PM...I think this is exactly what CGC was talking about the other day...competition pushing the starters.  Oh Yeah!
