Guyute_Pig 0
Thought I'd go in a different direction for the board. With the impending sanctions that are coming to Pedo-State tomorrow, we must assume (as happened at USC) that players will be allowed to transfer immediately. Anybody we have been in on the past couple years that might be a possibility? Also, how could any parent allow their child to commit to them this year? They deserve everything they get tomorrow. I think they should also have to adopt the Pedo Bear as their mascot for the next five years. He can kinda just meander around the sidelines giving a wave or thumbs up every now and then. around4ever 4,139
We will find out tomorrow but I would think that the current players would be offered a transfer without penalty. We don't have much room for any transfers. I doubt we look that direction.

gilstein211345162940 0
we might take ted roof if the ncaa lays the hammer down, then yes they will allow players to transfer without penalty. The length and severity of the punishment will determine if it's for upperclassmen only, or all players.
PokerJokerAU 0
Aren't they considered Linebacker U? I would think we could take one of those since we only have 83 on scholarship (I think) I know we probably won't, and may not even have the room considering we will hand out some well deserved scholarships to walk-ons (Corey Grant). However, don't you dare rain on my parade.

Again, we would have already had to have a relationship with one of these players for something to materialize. We don't typically go head to head with them in recruiting and I can't recall anyone off the top of my head.

And since SEC schools can not accept Senior transfers that is not an option so I don't see it happening.

I remembered I saved the SEC Constitution as a pdf file. They have some wavers to the transfer rules for transfers from institutions on probation to make life a little easier on those kids. This is one I found: 14.8 ADDITIONAL WAIVERS FOR ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS 14.8.2 Residence Requirement. To be read in conjunction with NCAA Bylaw 14.8.2 ©: © Transfer from Institution on Probation. A student-athlete granted a waiver of the one-year residence requirement by the NCAA under NCAA Bylaw 14.8.2 © shall be eligible for aid, practice and participation at the time of transfer, provided all other Conference and NCAA requirements are met, but only if the transfer is from a non-Conference institution. auburnphan 6,050
The NCAA could eliminate the transfer/eligibility rule in this circumstance since it had nothing to do with the players behavior, but in the administration of the university. I would not be so quick to give a definitive no as this is a different situation than any other. Also, I do not see Auburn taking any of their players. I think the coaches are very happy with the roster, the depth and the competition that is already going on.

Landshark 3
Mike Farrell @rivalsmike Just spoke to Christian Hackenberg, told me he wants to play in a bowl game. Would call #southcarolina first and #auburn next if needed.
AUBigCat 17
The only Penn State guy I remember us really recruiting hard was linebacker Khairi Fortt. He is probably a rSo or Jr now. I didnt keep up with his career but I wouldnt mind taking a chance on him if he wanted to come to AU.

AUTiger2012 84
I wonder how JJ would feel about taking a commitment from Hackenberg, but I am sure South Carolina will do whatever necessary to get him probably. But it would be nice to pull in a fellah like this.

We don't have much room for any transfers. I doubt we look that direction. Not to mention that we don't have so much of a need for any transfers. I understand the inclination to potentially want a linebacker, but honestly, there isn't so much of a need even for LBs. We return all three starters and one of the backups from last year, plus Kris Frost, Anthony Swain, and Chris Landrum who redshirted. Add in Cass McKinzy and Javy Mitchell (who will almost certainly redshirt, I would think), and that's quite the talented class in it's own right...not to mention that we have arguably the best linebacker class in the nation put together for this next recruiting class. Now, playing devil's advocate, if Khari Fortt, whom I believe we recruited at least briefly in 2010, wanted to transfer here, then yeah, I could see us at least considering that. He's a junior, 6'2 238, and was rated a 6.0 four star out of high school, so he would add instant experienced depth...but still, I can't see that happening. Orange and Blue 17211345162833 0
I was just looking at Hackenburg's Rivals profile, and he was not offered by Loeffler the 1st time around. I'm not sure if Loeffler would offer him now if he didn't think Hackenburg was the right fit from his Spring evaluations of QBs.
