Just curious is anyone else saw this on Foxnews this am. Not sure whom the author is but it certainly does not bode well with me to be lumped into in article in such a general way.  This case with PSU is in a league all of its own in regards to children and the offenses against them.  NO comparison in my opinion.... and what scandals mounted....???

." And the NCAA, heavily criticized for its sometimes-ponderous pace in deciding penalties as scandals mounted at Ohio State, Auburn, USC and elsewhere, acted with unprecedented swiftness in arriving at what it called "corrective and punitive" sanctions for a team that is trying to start over with a new coach and a new outlook.

WHile Auburn is lumped in with guilty schools in the investigation, the main point is that the NCAA moved much quicker in this situation, than the others, I think.

I agree to a point and that point is the word scandal is used along with Auburn. Auburn did not participate in any way, shape, or form in a scandal. Others tried to make it out that we did but we didn't... and the NCAA came to that same finding. We had the Cam Newton situation that was a MSU scandal if it was any team's scandal. We had the allegations about illegal benefits with agents, etc that were bs accusations from a rival or a segment of its fan base that acted as Internet terrorists by submitted virtually an endless supply of whatever accusation they could collectively dream up. We also had the HBO4's accusations that was found to be without substance.

I believe there is a difference in a proven scandal and unproven accusations.  Lumping us in there implied guilt and is unfair to Auburn.

Well, the NCAA did move at a ponderous pace in deciding penalties against Auburn which were, by the way, .....NONE!

Lazy journalism(?)...people just keep on repeating "known facts" and don't bother to really investigate the outcomes of supposed scandals.

Note that UNC has had academic fraud in at least two sports dating back ten years or more and has already been penalizes and yet is still being heavily investigated by NCAA with some new findings released as recently as this past week...and FOX seems not to have gotten the word about any of it.

I am giving them the benefit of the doubt however:   IMO, they don't hate AU, they are just lazy and incompetent.

Freaking  B I N G O !

It is just flat out irresponsible journalism and the talking heads on ESPN and other stations that just repeated rumors (taking them at face value from rivals) were name smearing enablers. Funny that I never saw ESPN apologize for sucking up to Pete Carroll all that time where he could do no wrong and lobbied for USC at every opportunity. What was PC doing all that time you kissed his ring guys ? ESPN is  doing the same with knee high now and were doing it with Meyer. Some of  Meyer’s shenanigans are finally hitting the light of day. ESPN puts Meyer, saban and Stoops on the ESPN panel to discuss “what is wrong with college football and how to fix it” ….LOL !  Stoops is worthy, but the others….puhleeeeesse !

War Eagle !
