Big Ten and PSU

I saw a story on the news wire this morning that the Big Ten may get involved with PSU sanctions of their own.  I wonder what that is all about?  Were they, or are they, worried that PSU will not have a team for a while and are thinking about a replacement, boot PSU and add Notre Dame or something...

From a conference standpoint, that is about all I can think off unless they just want to pile on and officially state they will not be allowed to officially win their division.

An ESPN reported just said that PSU will not get their share of the Big Ten bowl money... but I haven't seen an announcement.
