Gene Chizik said he wants to "encourage fans" to show up n morning at Jordan-Hare, "because this is going to be a great game."
...
Chizik, eluding to Arkansas' struggles: "On paper, it doesn't necessarily look like what it looks like on film."
...
Chizik said October vitally important for team: "This month's going to be a taxing month, but really and truly, what month isn't?"
...
Chizik: "I think we've played some very quality opponents. I think that's been proven in the past month. They've all had success."
...
Chizik, asked if he preferred to keep playing after LSU, or if bye week was well timed: "I think you can go either way on that." So, both?
...
Chizik on pressure of beating Arkansas: "There's pressure in beating everybody that we play." Swatted that question like Dikembe Mutombo.
...
Chizik calls Arkansas QB Tyler Wilson "an impressive young man. ... Every week, you're going to get a battle from him."
...
Chizik on Arkansas woes: "I think they're leaving things on the field. I think they're probably feeling a little bit like we are right now."
...
Chizik has more praise for Tyler Wilson: "Everything that he was built up to be preseason, he still is."
...
Chizik says receivers "have to grow up" and catch the ball, make plays. Clearly, not pleased with drops.
...
Chizik on WR Emory Blake: "One thing about Emory that is 100 percent in his career ... he's not afraid to compete."
...
Chizik on Lutz: "You create a lot of credibility for yourself when you're a very productive guy, consistent. He's been that."

And a few player quotes...

Sammie Coates: "We need to make bigger plays. ... Wide receivers haven't really been making big plays lately."

...

Coates says that the receivers have been working after practice with Frazier to build chemistry

...

Coates: "Our season hasn't gone the way the way we wanted to, so a win would be big."

...

Coates: "Last week against LSU, I should have caught that ball. It would have been a big play in the game."

...

Coates: "I feel like I've got to get past that. It would have been a big catch, it would have helped turned around the game."

...

Coates: "I look at that catch like I could have won the game. ... I'm going to make the big plays next time."

...

Coates said he lost concentration when the LSU defensive back grabbed him on the way down.

...

Coates on Blake: "All of us look up to him, because he does everything right. He makes the catches when he needs to."

...

Coates says Philip Lutzenkirchen has battled injuries here and there, but he's worked through it to stay on the field.

...

Coates on Reed: "All he talks about is that play, how he should have made it, and he's going to make it the next time he gets a chance."

No, "either".

CGC isn't any more coy than many other head coaches and the mocking of so much of what he does say in these pressers is getting a bit old.

I love CGC. I hate it when my HC infers that we are not well coached. I preach patience while the team works hard on improving. I presribe to the Auburn Creed when my patience wears thin.

Looking for the kicking game to step up with some big plays Saturday.

Little doc

I would love for Coates to take this drop and use it to push himself to become great the way Ben Obomanu did after his 2003 drop against Ole Miss.

his "either way", is just another example of him being in over his head. can't even make a decision during a press conference.

Seriously, come off it man. Your act is getting old.

Thanks for the updates RIR, some of us here really do appreciate it.

Yep, thanks.

Holsey sounds pretty good to me. Confident, but not overly cocky.
