I read an article where Coach Chiz said we identified our weaknesses over the bye week. I think he did a really great job of noting those weaknesses. Maybe he should have tried to fix some of them. Our OC is lost and I have no idea what he is trying to accomplish from play to play. Where is Prosch? Are we an I formation running team,or a spread passing team? What plays do our players feel confident running?

I am in need of some serious sunshine pumping because this team will be lucky to win 3 games.

If this is all we got......War Damn Eagle anyway.

I have no clue as to what is going on with this team and its obvious that coach Chizik

doesn't either. The only difference is I am not being paid a hefty salary to be the

head coach.

Chiz is a talker, plain and simple. He'll try and spin this awful loss somehow. It's in his DNA. He can't resist to continue to spew the same mess every week regardless of how silly it makes him look.

Spin? Here's the Chiz post-game press conference.

"We missed some plays we need to have. We were inconsistent. Our quarterback has to play better. Our offensive line needed some adjustment. Our defense didn't play well. This was a good Arkansas team coached by a mastermind."

I will say that I have not been calling for Chizik's head lately. I'm sorry, but that changed with this loss. NO EXCUSES.

You know, this has to be eating at the core of our players. We have some damn good players that deserve to be coached to the caliber of their talent. I have been as positive as I can be since the beginning of the CGC era. Obviously, Jay Jacobs cannot clean house in the middle of the season. I have watched Arky for their past couple of games, and saw some very real dangers that they could cause us and other teams in the SEC. I just did not think after seeing the LSU Game, that we would lose this game; however we did lose. I hate to start talking about a new HC, and this probably will not happen no matter how the season plays out. The man has given us an NC and 3 winning seasons. I was one of the folks that supported Coach Tuberville, and did not want him to go. However, that is old news anyways. I do think CGC needs to hire the best OC money can buy and get out of his way and let him coach. There are some out there that could come in and do wonders with this team. When we hired CSL, I immediately went to look at his credentials as an OC at Temple. His rushing game looked good, but his passing game was rather poor. On a much bigger stage such as the SEC, his weaknesses have been magnified 100X. I really like TAMU's OC, OK State's OC among others out there. I do think if CBVG could get the offensive support and get his defense off of the field when they should be, he will be able to show just how good of a DC that he really is.

As Chizik likes to say "there's no doubt about it" we need some coaches on the offensive side

of the ball who have a clue! Save time & fire Loeffler now! He is clueless!

I'm still fine with Chizik. He's a good CEO. I'm optimistic to a fault regarding AU and I've never bashed an individual on this site, but CSL's time is up. He is not good at his job. If his unit can't make progress against a D like Arkansas', it's not happening this year. KF is not near as bad as he looks, it's all on CSL. Absolute clown.

Still, War Eagle!

One thing you can be sure of is that he'll never blame himself or the coaching staff for being ill prepared.

We all knew the possibilities of what this season would hold. It is easy to be an armchair QB or COACH. I hope nothing is done to hurt our current recruiting. We need talent on the field. The worst coaches can win games as long as there is talent on the field.

Mirror Mirror on the wall, who is the worst SEC coach of them all? Well Gene, unless you don't have a reflection, you are looking at him. And If you don't have a reflection, it is still John L. Smith. You know him Gene. He just embarrassed you at home.

Look at our recruiting classes under Chizik! Do we not have the talent on the field to perform better than this?

Take a look at the ULM, Arkansas, MSU and Clemson classes over the last 4 years. Are we worse off than these guys? I doubt it.

The problem is at the top. I love Chizik and everything he stands for, but he needs a complete paradigm change if he expects to keep his overblown salary. This level of incompetence at this stage of his career given the level of talent on hand is inexcusable.

We all knew the possibilities of what this season could be, but i thought the possibilities were 12-0, 11-1, 10-2, etc. Not 1-11. According to people who get paid big bucks for their knowledge of recruiting, we have some of the most talent on the field in any program. We all knew this coming into the season. We just seem to be squandering it somewhere... maybe trying to fit a spread peg in a pro hole? I don't know, but i think most of our expectations were significantly higher.

I think that this was a poor excuse of a game on our part. Before this week, we were not a great team, but we had made strides forward. It seemed like our players' heads were not in this game. There were way too many mental mistakes. I'm not sure who is responsible, but they better step it up.

I will say this in our defense. Arkansas finally showed up for a game. Prior to this game, wilson has been an int machine and they have fumbled more than any other team in fbs. They really played hard today and cut their mistakes down.

However, this ^ is no excuse for us to execute poorly.

Call it what it is. Arkansas showed up to play and played hard. We didn't.

There are 2 types of head coaches. Those who manage, and those who manage and also coach (like gundy at OK state calling plays). That being said Chizic is the manager. If players are not being coached then it is position coaches. The offensive line gets a pass in my eyes because none has played long enough to make serious improvement throught coaching. However, offensively have you seen improvement over the years in players. Has Blake, Reed, Stallworth, Benson,or any of the older recievers gotten better every year. I don't think so Blake was about the same 2 years ago. The others have gotten so much better that they can't even start. Is Mason, or McCaleb better this year than they were last year or the year before. I don't see it does anyone. Maybe we should be calling some of these coaches names as well.

Irontiger I think you hit the nail on the head. There are other coaches on this staff that need to be evaluated. One of two things with the receivers, either the evaluation of talent is not very good or the coaching of the position is not very good! Even under Malzhan there was very little production from the receivers other than Blake. Although i like the prostyle offense, I think Chizik made a major mistake hiring loeffler with the current talent that was recruited for the spread offense.

Was it them looking good, or yet another case of us making an average/less than average team look good?

No doubt about it, coaches will have to update resumes this year. I am just not sure if it will be a clean sweep or just a few. At this point I am hoping we can keep our recruiting class together.

How many times do we fire or have coordinators leave before we finally realize.. it's the head coach who needs to go. The head man makes the hires..He hired CSL... it is time to let him take the fall for the failures.. Clean house.
