Now is the time for Auburn men and women to step up

WE ARE NOT ALABAMA FANS!!! Forget the coaches. There are a lot of Auburn football players, cheerleaders, band members and students hurting right now. Each and every one of us needs to thank them for their efforts. The coaching situation will be handled. But these good Auburn men and women need our support more than ever! They didn't intend for this to happen. I've been as hard on the staff as anyone and I think there are a lot of issues there. THAT will be resolved. But for a bunch of 18 year old kids to be blamed for the happiness of any of us is NOT what needs to be happening.

I believe in Auburn and love it! And you should too! I suffered through all 5 years of Doug Barfield. I've seen wasted talent. But that doesn't excuse us from loving the young people; young AUBURN people that give what they have for our entertainment each and every week. The ones that get up early and lift and run. The band members that show up at 6 in the morning to practice before the game. The cheerleaders that work so hard to be able to bring the team the support they deserve. The students that wait in line to get into the stadium.

Lets thank them. They DESERVE it!

WDE!!

There is plenty of time to deal with "who's fault' this is. Find a student, an alum, a player and tell them you care about them and thank them for working their tails off for us. They are hurting right now. Prove we are a family. Be proactive. Its easy to do after a National Championship but now is the time they need us and WE need to be there for them. We can bitch and moan another day. Be there for them today!

WDE!!

I'm pretty sure this is the exact time to moan.... John l smith, dabo sweeney, and Dan mullen have all outcoached us this season. Let that sink in....

yeah, lets all absolve them all from any blame for this pathetic football team....."little johnny, its not your fault that you missed that tackle and overthrew a wideassed open receiver, and had all those false start penalties"......yeah,its the coaches' job to coach them to make the plays, but then they have to go make them....this bunch can't do it

I'm sick of Chizik.

I'm sick of Loeffler.

I'm sick of Jay Jacobs.

And lastly, I'm sick of Pat Dye still micromanaging everything in the program.

Yeah, we need every available Auburn man and woman to help Chizik, Jacob s and the rest of the underperformers pack up their belongings and move on, maybe Dye will let you stay at his farm since he seems to speak for the University Athletic Department.

I understand the point of this post. This is not a time to blame anyone but lend support and encouragement for the psyche of these young men who, though flawed, fought the best they could. If you want to post negativity there are plenty of posts for that.

This post made me stop and think. We've seen many young men and women say they decided to come to Auburn because they fell in love with it and recognized that the Auburn family is something special. The fact that their athletic careers may not be going as planned for either them or us doesn't mean they love Auburn any less, nor should we love them any less, because we are still Family.

Students, Band Members,Cheerleaders? WTF are you talking about? Who in the world has said anything about the student body, band members, or Cheerleaders??

I mean that's just grasping at straws.

They're hurting right now? How much moreso are any of those groups hurting vs. the average fan?

Look Gene, the criticism has been directly solely at you and csl (I don't agree). Not anyone else

Why do we still have Dye hanging around the program with apparently so much influence? Isn't this the same man, caught on tape, who was cheating? I will admit he did some outstanding things for Auburn and helped put our program on the proverbial football map but there is a time to let go. I cringe at the thought of what he might say when he is on Pondscum each week. That is one of the many reasons I refuse to listen to pondscum. War Eagle
