hudd57 0
Like most everyone on here has said, we have recruited well the last 4 years, So talant is not a problem. and I think most of our coaches are proven except for Loefler(sp). Sooooo here is what I think because I just can't figure anything else. These kids we have recruited for 3 years thought they were going to play in the spread off. that is all they have ever known and when they get here we change to the pro and they are not happy , this off. is not what they signed at AU to play in. So maybe there is a revolt of some sort going on. I don't have any answers but unfortunatly I don't think the coaches know how to fix what we saw on the field today......sorry for the spelling.....War Damn Eagle, I still love my Auburn Tigers

gilstein21 1
we recruited kids who were great athletes and were just simply better than what they played against in high school. Unfortunately, the lack of fundamentals was hidden by their superior talent. Our coaches have done a horrible job of correcting those mistakes and teaching proper fundamentals. A change in philosophy definitely can hinder progress, but we aren't seeing that alone. We are witnessing horrible development of our players, and it's happening year after year. jj3jordan 1,901
One thing you need to run a pro style offense is pro style players. We don't have those, especially at QB.

I do not have anyone in mind.. not my job..that is the job of the AD.. but it is time to find a new AD and a new coaching staff... It is glaringly obvious that CGC can't get the job done... take away 2010 and the fact that Superman was running our offense.. and what has CGC done? gilstein21 1
there are so many different variations of spread, yet most think they are all the same. Basically a spread, spreads the players out and tries to take advantage of players in space. Malzahn's offense wasn't a typical spread, outside of formations and trying to get players one on one in space. Pro Style, is run first, play action, ball control, and milk the clock while you score points.

SumterAubie 2,919
The reality is Auburn started a redshirt freshman, a true freshman and I believe 2 sophmores on the offensive line. It is tremendously hard to win with such young guys on the oline. A rule of thumb on the success of a team is the number of starts by the oline. The 2010 bunch had over 100 starts between them. The current starters don't have 30 together. Auburn will continue to struggle this year, obviously. But next year and the year after, as these guys mature and depth is built up, the team will be much better. Auburn will compete for championships in 20014. au701948 908
I do not thinkCGC needs to fired this season. He should be given next year to finally make a large step in improving the productivity of the team. Then if that does not happen, the coaching may be a legitimate consideration. The best coaching CGC was his first year with "no depth" and seemingly having players go "both ways" at times. If he is fired this year, which I do not think will happen, the entire past 4 years efforts will be lost and nothing gained. As it is we do have a "theoretically" great recruiting class in the pipeline and we may finally make it over the hump. Not sure but hopeful. Also, the more I write the more therapeutic it is..! Texas, Georgia, etc have had poor years at times with excellent talent. And even though our record and efforts at times have seemed woefully poor, I genuinely believe that with just one poor fair catch in the LSU game, and one quicker step by OMac against Clemson, we could just as well be 3-2 right now with losses to MSU and Arkansas. No, that doesn't change the record but they are legitimate observations. Other than that, our worst area of performance right now is the offensive line-they cannot run block nor pass block to any degree of effectiveness. Sure the QB's look horrendous but 7 or 8 sacks and more hurries in one game is impossible to overcome. Hoping for better days and patience in the pwers that be. We need to keep recruiting and kep playing and give these guys a chance. Best wishes to you Tigers. I still love you and wish you the best. Sorry for the loss today.
