rtftiger 40
I am sick of those who want a change of head coach trying to rewrite history like our opponents would like to do. The logic behind "Chizik would already be gone if it weren't for Cam" is so terrible. While Cam Newton had talent unlike we have seen, coaching is the job of acquiring the talent and putting the talent in position to win. Chizik accomplished that in spades. Would we say, "If Bo Jackson had not come to Auburn, Pat Dye would not have been a very food coach?" Do you remember in 2003 when we had four first rounders in their junior years and stunk? It wasn't a very good coaching job. The next year, 2004, was a good coaching job. So, roster creation, management, and empowerment are part of the job of a head coach. Clearly, Chizik is not doing a good job this year, but don't pretend that 2010 just happened without him. Also, while you are agreeing with our opponents who say that Cam and Nick were the only reason we won, Zac Ethridge is returning an INT to ensure a win over Arkansas, Antonio Coleman is giving it his all to strip a Heisman Trophy winner and keep us in the game, and Kodi Burns is leading by example. Yes, many teams win big with a few exceptionally talented players and a lot of people doing their jobs.

I do not believe Chizik would already be gone if it weren't for Cam.. but I do believe he needs to go. You can't overlook the facts.. we all know that Cam was a freak on offense.. and you are correct about one thing.. he didn't run down the field and catch all those passes he threw.. (although he probably could have. ) but he made everyone around him better and that included our coaches. How do we go from National Champions to falling off a cliff and literally being one of the worse teams in the country?? Recruiting??? Nope we have had great classes.. coaching? I think so... I won't even pretend to know all the answers but I do believe Chizik isn't the answer.
