Pat Dye Runs The Athletic Dept in Auburn?

Somebody explain to me just exactly how Pat Dye is supposed to be the power player on the Plain without quoting Paul Finebaum.

I don't buy that for a second. I am sure he hangs out around the AD, and throws his $.02 in, but he has absolutely no power from what I have heard. He is the voice of Auburn, for the pondscum show, from what I have heard. I have also heard he needs to stop doing that.

I just find it humorous yet perplexing how his name keeps rising to the top. What evidence is there that he's ever interfeared? Heck, he's doing OK, but does he even have the finacial prowess to push a school around?

I'm not certain about what you just said? Pat Dye has zero influence in the decision making process for AUBURN UNIVERSITY. He may make suggestions but that is as far as it goes.

Then we are in agreement because I didnt know how to word my responce and most likely failed. I don't think Pat Dye is anything more than a man who used to coach at Auburn and simply never left. No problem with him hanging around but like any "grandpa like" figure, age tends to make one not care about what they say thus making others say, "Oh Lord, here we go again". LOL

He's not anymore although he still has too much say somtimes. Bobby Lowder's cronies still have more say.

Pat Dye loves him some Jay Jacobs and was very instrumental in Jay Jacobs becoming our AD. Does Pat Dye run our athletic department? No, but he is Jay Jacobs' mentor, confidant and biggest fan.

Being mentor and fan ...perhaps, since JJ played for him.....but I don't buy for a minute that he has any influence within the Athletic Dept....he still has his friends among the alum ..which might be more significant.

This all started with Tubby and I wish it would have ended with him... (By the way, I love CTT!) But CPD has nothing to do with this situation. coach Dye supports JJ and he supports AU and I support them both.

I believe CPD has a lot more say so than all of you are saying.

As much as I would love to have someone else to blame he is just an old man that loves Auburn...

Its all hes got.

That is the truth. He's not some Auburn power broker. Good Grief....

I don't think he runs it but I do think he needs to stop acting like he does on the radio. I me way would he say Chizik is safe even if we go 1-11? That is dumb.

unless someone on this board is close friends with JJ or PD, then no of us really know how much or if any influence he may have. But that is problem, he needs to go away or shut his mouth. then we would all know that he has no say in the matter.

How about we call or write JJ and ask him who is running the program?
