Regarding the OC situation

Wouldn't one of our offensive assistants have been interested in moving up to OC, if our first, second, and third choices all turned us down? I would think Luper, Grimes, or Trooper might like to have a shot, and I think Luper for one would have been much more capable than Bueller's best friend. If we were in fact rejected by our first choices, why did we not consider moving up one of our capable assistants?

I think Coach Taylor would do an adequate job.

I think CTT would fit better. I just want to see more spread. Under-center isn't scoring us points.

only thing he does an adequate job at is waving a towel around and wearing his damn hat backwards like some hyped up teenager

And because of him acting like that we recruit better than ever.

If we used any of the assistants, then I would want Luper. Either way this is the worst OC we've had in a LONG time and I honestly think a 12 year old with an NCAA playbook could do a better job. His playcalling is just baffling and doesn't use his player's strengths like Malzhan did.

So our coaching staff is doing way less with way more? That is comforting.

I get where you are going with this but I wouldn't speak to him wearing his hat that way unless you know the back story. Seriously, not a thing to pick at him about.

Troopa can recruit (with the baggage that comes with it) and wave a towel. That is the extent of his usefulness. I would not rely on his actual coaching prowess to coach a HS team. Luper would be a much better option to use as a interim OC.

Ok, I'll be the one to ask, what's the backstory? Just curious since you brought it up.

Coaching changes happen.. In every level... CGC worst knock as a head coach has been player development and strength training.. Not recruiting.. CGM is not a head football coach, not a great offensive coordinator either. Great high school coach.. That's why he is at Arkansas st.. We have very good athletes at auburn but look at are sophomores and upper class men vs alabama's.. Their db's are more physical and bigger than our defensive ends(and we have a great one). Our receivers rely on their pure talent to play. Because they do not know how to place their feet or turn after a catch. That's position coaching. That's every position... We are missing a few players though.. No LB's, no qb. But we have proved one thing over the past four years. We can take great recurits and turn them into decent players.. The best players auburn has produced over 4-years where developed by other coaches.. Do we need a new coach?? Better position coaches?? Strength and condition coaches??? Answer that for yourself... In four years has auburn developed a no-name player into an all-American.. For that matter have we developed an all-American into anything???

Trooper wears a backward hat because his father used to turn it around to kiss him goodbye in the mornings.

He keeps his hat turned backward as an honor to his deceased father.

10-4. I kinda figured something like that. Thanks.

Yes I absolutely do remember Greg Knox. Please don't tell me that Greg Knox set the bar for Trooper Taylor. If so, then yes, Troopa has gingerly stepped over that bar but he certainly has not leaped over it.

I know full well why trooper wears his hat backwards. That doesnt make it any less embarrasing to see him doing what he does on the sidelines. Its a joke to most of the nation besides those with orange and blue glasses. how can we expect to have a team with disipline when we got a coach acting like some character on Monday night raw

I hope Chizik would demote Leoffler for the past few weeks. It's obvious he doesn't know what he's doing. Luper would be the one to take over the OC spot. Malzahn let him call some plays during the games. He is already in the press box, and he is the one that gives input during the games. Let's see what the man can do. It can't get any worse!

Really? He can't even get his receivers to perform adequately except for Blake.

His Wrs at Ut & OkSt had no problems and neither did the WRs at AU till post Cam. Coates was looking good Sat.
