i know many of us, including myself wished that this trainwreck would end now. would you want gene back for next year? with all the tweets and facebook messages by our players, makes me think that he has lost total control of the program. thoughts? if you made any changes, what would they be?

AU football would go financially belly-up on staff buy-outs and be unable to attract another coach

Recruits would find another place to land

Yeah, if I could step away "honorably" or get my 7 million dollars to leave, especially considering it may be awhile before I'm at another top tier program...yeah I'll just say "keep your money, Jay. I've got this covered. Thanks for letting me coach the team for a few!" cmon...

I would be happy because this "panic" would be over. Changes, if made, have to start at the top of the AD and that means JJ. He should be held accountable for his hire, for the bloated salaries he is paying, for the extraordinary buyout and for the general failings of most all sports across the board within the athletic department. We really need a fresh start and someone with a good business acumen to run the AD. Please don't hire another "auburn man" as an AD unless he is head and shoulders above the next candidate in qualifications. This would give Gene the 2013 season to get this thing turned around. If not, then he was given a fair chance. If we can him today and start the search tomorrow, we will come up short of most people's expectations. A proven quality head coach will want no part of a knee jerk Auburn having to compete with LSU/UGA/UAt every year. Those are the facts.

Short answer. NO.

All coaches will be back next year with the possible exception of the OC. We will have another top recruiting class. Things will be much better next year.
