An odd series of connections

Just for fun to divert attention from all of the chaos on the boards...

In the summer of 2005, Batman Begins made its theatrical debut. That following football season Auburn stunk up it's season and home opener to Georgia Tech.

In the summer of 2008, The Dark Knight hit the big screen. That following football season would be Tommy Tuberville's last season as Auburn's head coach after the Tony Franklin fiasco, and resulted in a 5-7 season.

This summer (2012), the anticipated sequel The Dark Knight Rises finally arrived. The following football season has thus far yielded a 1-4 season and quite a few fans calling for heads.

Perhaps this is something StatTiger should look into...

Nice try, but Auburn hardly stunk up the 2005 season. We were 5 missed field goals away from a 10-1 regular season, a trip to ATL, and a likely BCS bowl. We also beat UGA and Bama while they were ranked in the Top 10.

To be fair, I was not implying that '05 was a bad season at all, just a bad start (sort of like Batman Begins being a good start for the franchise :P ) to 7-5 GT team.

Ha kinda weird....so what happened in 04 and 10 that we need to recreate

The abomination that was the Halle Berry "Catwoman" came out that year. Lol.

We need to find the connection of 04 and 10 though haha

Harry Potter came out during those years. But also came out during 01,02,04,05,07,09,10,11. So that's a connection/movie(s) I'd just assume forget about.

What about 2001 when Shrek came out? You can't discredit an entire movie to make your argument. Especially a fantastical argument.

You're right. I'm pretty much grasping for straws on the '04/'10 connection...

This thread has more substance in it than most of the ones I've read lately. Seriously. Great thread. Anyone know how Auburn played after the JAWS movies came out?

Meet the Parents in 2000, we went 9-4. Meet the Fockers in 2004 and Little Fockers in 2010 :)

Sounds like we need a new Focker

Interesting. Any info on the Spiderman/ Fantastic Four link?

The Spider-Man records are: Spider-Man 1(2002)- 9-4 Spider-Man 2(2004)- We all know how that went and Spider-Man 3(2007)- 9-4. We have done pretty good when Spider-Man movies come out

I've got nothing on the movie thing, nothing...

but it crossed my mind the other day, that Mr. Penny is no longer in our stands, doing push-ups for our scores. Hmmm, if he were needing to rehab, he wouldn't have to do too many push-ups this year. I wonder how poor Mr. Penny is doing. Anyone know?

Amazing Spiderman came out this year. It appears the reboot has not been kind to our team...
