UAH Tiger 0
Still thinking about what Sammie Coats said earlier about leadership and just my observation of Coach Chizik over the last seasons. It has always bugged me that coach doesn't give the refs an earfull after bad calls and is always getting on the players instead. You saw this alot during the NC run. I think with older players he was able to get away with this but younger players not so much. I think the younger guys see this as a weakness and give up when the going gets tough. I can see them saying if the coach isn't going to fight for us then why should we fight? Just something I observed and wondering what others think on the issue? I had this same thought tonight when I watched Steve Spurrier chew out a referee because of what spurrier thought was a late hit on the QB, after the QB had made a bad play. I, for some reason, had the thought that Chizik does not appear to fight for his players when bad or no calls are made or try to pump them up like Will Muschamp when they make good plays. However, Muschamp appears to have a lot more to cheer about. I am sure I will get flamed for saying anything negative about Chizik but, oh well! I was watching when Spurrier did that tonight also and I thought it was a great call. I watched Muschamp lead Florida last week to a win over UGA, those kids will run thru a brick wall for that guy. He has turned that place around in no time.
