DyeCampAlum 335
My Dad is an Auburn alum, and I was born while he was in college. We literally lived across the street from Terry Beasley in married student housing. So, while I went to a small liberal arts college, I do have Auburn in my blood. I grew up in Florence, and I stayed loyal to Auburn despite the Northwest Alabama persecution. I'm also a Vandy alum. I went to grad school there, and I had the pleasure of teaching a few student athletes as a TA. In every case but one, great kids. So I'm always torn when Auburn plays Vandy. Usually I resolve that by rooting for whoever has the most to gain by winning. That almost always has me pulling for Vandy in basketball, lately even in baseball. But who would have thought? In our last two games, 2008 and 2012, Vandy would be playing for something while Auburn isn't? Back in '08 I caught myself silently happy during those first series when Auburn kicked Vandy's butt. But I pulled for Vandy. This year I'll be there in person -- and wearing gold. Probably feeling about the same. My daughter has informed me that she's navy and orange all the way, even Saturday. WDE just the same!
Miden 0
On the bright side, you'll at least be a little happy no matter the outcome.
TigerNBham 3
I've was a Doors man first and then an AU Man since late 60s. Hard not to pull for them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XWQrt00_NM

WDE just the same! This is EXACTLY how I feel about Ole Miss, where I graduated from. I was really pleased with Ole Miss' performance on Saturday, but I think I was equally horrified by Auburn's. Now, when I visit Ole miss, I try not to go during Auburn week, for that exact reason. But, anyway, thanks for posting. It makes me feel better to know someone else is in the same predicament. rollsroyce5 0
That's a wonderful story but you guys do realize that a loss to Vandy will make them the only East team that wr have an all-time losing record against. It's currently 20-20-1 with all Vandy's wins besides '08 being pre 1960.
auburn4ever 1,266
Vandy is picked to beat Auburn. Chizik and Jacobs should ashamed of their self for allowing this program to drop ths far in just 2 short years.
