is happy at LSU.

I hope he stays at LSU a while. I like hearing from our favorite Louisiana State fans how incredible Saban's defensive schemes are and how he simply cannot be matched as a coach.....then beating him. :roflol:

He has said the same things before the Bears and other NFL teams came the last 2-3 seasons.

He is still quite interested, IMO.

120126[/snapback]

And, what did he do?

I'm not sure what that proves.

Proves that he is still interested in going to the NFL. This whole theory from people that he always wanted to stay at LSU has no backbone whatsoever to it. When NFL teams come calling to coaches some just say no and Saban has yet to ever do it. He has talked with the Colts a few years back and then just recently sat down with the Bears.

When the Phins come calling he will IMO sit down with Wayne and see if something can be ironed out. If it can be, so be it...if not, it wouldn't shock me.

He won't leave for one reason: Terry Saban. She loves it here and so do his kids.

He plays home games in what he calls the greatest venue to play a ballgame anywhere. HE's gonna be around for a while. He's said so over and over.

She does like it where she is but that won't stop Nick from leaving. There isn't that much love even if the LSU fans try to make it sound that way.

Have met her on several occasions too. Very nice woman.

What the heck would you expect him to say?

"I like LSU, but, man, we play in a dump."

Jesus H. Christ!!! Now, I've seen it all. SL2 is a mind reader and prophet. What logic..."He has said the same things before the Bears and other NFL teams came the last 2-3 seasons. He is still quite interested..." What was the final result w/ the Bears and the other NFL teams SL2? Your statements prove nothing!!!

t88, if the trend continues...Saban wins against AU next year just like every year under him against AU in Tiger Stadium.

Not a mind reader at all. Just someone who can put 2+2 together to help my LSU friends who struggle with reality (ala this pre-season). You can bitch and moan all you want about Saban staying but it's still quite obvious he is NFL bound and the Phins job just may give him the power he wants. This whole "He loves LSU" and "His wife loves LSU" crap is a joke.....seems every coach who leaves has those things to say.

Then again, seeing as to how it's been quite evident from your previous posts that your comprehension ability rivals that of 10-year-old....I doubt that actually kicked in when reading it over.

All hail ye Ole' SL2 great lord of wisdom, knowledge, comprehension and addition. No bitchin and moaning here, but much humor in your prophesizing and know it all attitude.

umm...ellishugh...you are from Louisiana...and your knocking on jaydubb?

Let's just say (for the sake of argument) jaydubb is a redneck as you imply. Is that as bad as a French, swamp-dwelling, redneck?

Typical coona$$... ;)

I have no clairvoyent abilities; no inside contacts in the LSU, Dolphins, or Saban camps; and in truth, not a great deal of concern about the issue, but I did find it interesting how Neil McCready interprets the same Tuesday statement reported by the ESPN/AP:

http://www.al.com/sports/mobileregister/nm...16830116300.xml

Saban atop Dolphins' list:

LSU coach Nick Saban released a statement Tuesday that essentially said nothing. Saban said he's happy at LSU and hasn't talked to any NFL team and wanted to focus on LSU's final three regular-season games, which start with Saturday night's game against Alabama.

But make no mistake about it: Saban is the top candidate to replace Dave Wannstedt in Miami.

Much of the focus has centered on Spurrier, but Spurrier told the Miami Herald on Tuesday that he is "not interested. This coach is made for college ball. If I get back into coaching, it'll only be in college football. The NFL isn't made for me. It's no fun. Even NFL guys tell me to stay in college because the NFL is no fun."

Herald columnist Dan LeBatard asked Saban last month if he would be interested in coaching the Dolphins. Their reported exchange was fairly telling.

"I would rather answer that question this way," Saban said before reportedly before meandering around the question with comments such as "I'm very, very happy at LSU" to "I'm focused on what we have to do for the rest of the season."

Miami is reportedly interested in hiring Patriots vice president of player personnel Scott Pioli as its director of football personnel. Pioli and Saban are friends.

So the ESPN article interprets Saban's comments as a flat rejection, while McCready interprets the same comments as vague and ambiguous--"I'm happy at LSU" "I want to focus on the end of the season" etc., but not a straight out "NO".

Again, I'm not going to lose any sleep one way or the other, but thought I'd throw some more gas on the fire for those who want to argue the subject :D:P
