After Georgia beats us

The Georgia game is going to be one of the biggest ever on the Plains. The excitement this week is in the air and you can feel it with every Auburn person you speak with. The support for this group of kids has been something special and it's gonna be kind of hard to get ready for Alabama regardless of the outcome of this game.

You know I have to be the one to post this thread because of my lifelong Cubs fandom and general overall pessimism. I just hope that people don't jump on the players, coaches, administration's back if we happen to lose this game. It's been a very special season so far and even if we lose to Georgia:

We will still be a top 10(or 5) team.

We will still be going to the SECCG.

We still have a shot at whippin Bama's ass for our 10th win.

We will still be right in the mix for a big BCS bowl.

I know they'll be some disappointment and the ones that like to, will be trashing everything about CTT and the staff, and the players. But let's try to fight some of that off and don't just let the wheels fly off. I mean Geez, we'll still have three games left. The same folks you'll be trashing are going to need us those three games.

I will not be jumping off any band wagon because I was never on one in the first place. I have never made a decision to go or not to go, to an Auburn game based on our record, how we're playing, what's at stake etc. I want to go to every Auburn game I can get to regardless and pull for the Tigers.

I graduated from AU, I met my wife at AU(although I won't hold that against the University :D) and my family has been a scholarship contributor since the Sullivan/Beasley days. I will not jump on or off any band wagon. If AU doesn't come out on top, I'll be disappointed but I'll get over it and immediately start hollerin' that special phrase some of you enjoy so much.

I want to make it clear that I don't think we should lose to Georgia either. I'm as fired up as anyone(ask WT). I don't think we've already lost.

I used the term "After we lose.........." to draw in the other posters besides the ones who would immediately jump on me if I said "If we lose........."

I mean if it's OK to speculate on winning them all, it should be OK to specualate on what happens if we lose one.

War Eagle!!!!

If we lose, Jaydubb, I think the bulk of us will still be proud to call ourselves Auburn People. Going to an Auburn game is more than watching a football team. It's seeing friends from college that you haven't seen in a year, since the last big game. It's seeing the only place you've ever lived, and moved away from, that still feels like "home" when you go back. I drive 9 hours to get to Auburn, but the longest part of the trip is between Wire Road and College on 85. Who doesn't get excited about walking around campus, yelling War Eagle to total strangers, and getting a War Eagle right back.

Like AUEsquire said, we won't be jumping off the bandwagon, since there wasn't one anyway. I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that I'd still be excited for this game and the next one, if we were 0-9. I know for a fact that on Sunday, I'll be wearing an Auburn sweatshirt for the ride back to St Louis. I know that, as I do every year for the week of the Iron Bowl, I wear an Auburn shirt to work every day.

In short, have a little faith. Sure it would be great to win, but win or lose, I'm so damn proud of my school, for it's athletic teams, sure, but also for the kind of people that go there, and the education we receive.

We still go to the SECCG and we will beat UT and we will still go to the Sugar Bowl the bigger question....

If when win out and if we get slighted for the MNC..... We go to the Sugar Bowl what a joke

There are no ifs, buts, and all that stuff... We are gonna win Saturday. Tuberville knows that this will be the year to go to the National Championship for a little bit.. and since this is the 1st season after the coaching fiasco, I am sure he wants to make David Housel and all the rest that were in it look very dumb..

"IF we lose":

We wil not be a top ten team, nor will we play in a BCS game. I still think they would slip UGAly in there somewhere. Unless, we win the SECCG, and it is mandated we play in the Sugar.

All of the fond thoughts of Auburn and how great it is to be a Tiger, etc, are great!

I just hate the thought of shouting "It's great to be an Auburn Tiger" after ANOTHER loss in a big game. Of course it's great! But when we do it that way, it just makes the loss really sink in more, and I don't participate in the "It's great to be a loser" cheer.

Every Auburn fan out there has the fear of losing this game, in their mind somewhere. Maybe you won't admit it, but it is there. Everything we have all hoped and prayed for for 47 years is hanging in the balance again this week. Do we dare think the impossible? Do we dare dream it? I will be there yelling and pulling as hard as I can for our Tigers. My new fiance doesn't get it yet about why I get so mad, or almost cry when I see those Blue Jerseys hit the field, or when the Eagle flies, or the band plays. She is getting there though! I want nothing more than to run the table and bring home the National Championship(doesn't matter which one Corndogs!) I just don't want to get too high right now and be disappointed again. I am enjoying this season. There have been, maybe, 3 or 4 like it in recent history. Each time Auburn has failed to come through. I just hope this time we get over the hump and do it!

As per her usual, the lovelly (and with silky smooth legs, no less) Jenny has cut to the chase. :D

I am an AUBURN man today, I was an AUBURN man yesterday, and I will be an Auburn man 'till the day I die.

I figured before the season that we'd go 8-3 and lose to LSU, UT, and UGA. If we lose, I'll be disappointed for the obvious reasons, but this team has already exceeded my expectations. IF we didn't have a shot at the NC, a loss wouldn't be as big of a heartbreaker b/c we're heading to Atlanta either way and Uga's probably not!

Before the season, given that the defending national champions were in the SEC West, I considered just getting to the SECCG a successful season. I'm thrilled with where we are, hope we'll go further, but behind my Tigers regardless.

You see that's the attitude that spreads like the flu......for some reason and I think it started around 98 I can't be too sure....one of those years around that time is when we(AU) got a hope we might win attitude...maybe we can beat the other team....I'm doubtful etc...this would have NEVER happen in the 80's..

O Where O where has our backbone went?? since those mighty days?

Remember the words of Herman Munster..the backbone's connected to the headbone.

THINK WIN....THINK WIN.....THINK WIN.....

FOR PETE'S SAKE THE LAST GAME IN JORDAN HARE, ALL IS ON THE LINE, THIS IS IT.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS WHAT WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR,FOR EON'S.......IT'S NOT GEORGIA'S TO TAKE AWAY.....THIS IS OUR TIME,OUR HOUSE,OUR CAUSE.

OUR NATIONAL CHAMIONSHIP

GET UP!!!!! :AUBig:
