Cliffs?

He mainly talked about the staff and how dedicated they are at making a change to attitude. Talked about the love for AU in the staff with 2 former players and 2 former coaches, now Lashlee is a graduate, having received his Masters while a GA. Told story about D. Craig on the recruiting trail. Said he will ALWAYS were a suit on recruiting visits and takes them very seriously, thus his success. Said on a recent visit that DC, the recruit, and the parents got into a little exchange about the recruit coming to AU. DC said, "If I do a back flip right now, will you come to AU??" DC did a back flip in his suit, Lashlee added he thinks he took off the jacket, but still. CRL talked a lot about the passion of CDC and CRG b/c of ties to AU. He talked about the players and stressing to them that things were changing. He said it took 6 practices before the WRs got it together b/c of the tempo of the O, but had good things to say about Denson, Louis, and Bray. Talked about the new guys coming in at every position would be competing for playing time. Said the BEST players would play regardless of being freshman or senior, the best would be on the field. When asked about leadership on the team he pointed out Prosch, and Dismukes, but said it was work in progress b/c they wanted there to be several. Since there is only one senior on O, they were basically treating Juniors as leaders. He said the OL was a very talented group who improved a lot during spring. He said Dee Ford was difficult to block for their O and that J. Garrett had improved a lot over spring. He said the talent and potential is there for them to be good. He wouldn't comment on QB race, but said that Wallace and Frazier had improved over the spring and they know they are going to be challenged by Marshall, Johnson, and the other QB coming in. Johnson enrolled on Monday and starts classes on Thursday, then goes back for HS graduation this Saturday. He never said it, but I gathered that the coaches are excited about Johnson coming in and expect good things from him. He was very relaxed and talked a lot with all of our fans. He actually showed up early, did that interview with al.com reporter, and stayed late talking with folks. On a side note, we had Tracy Rocker in the house as our special guest. What a great guy!!!
