Just finished watching the 83 iron bowl. I had forgotten some aspects of this game. I remembered the two long runs by bo. Odd game with all the scoring in the 2nd and 3rd quartes. I had forgotten but also now remember the tornado warning that came out. Just curious to get the perspective of anyone that was at the game that day.

I was there. It rained HARD..I sat in a seat next to the steps and water was running down them like a water fall.Bo made his long TD runs right into the endzone we were sitting in.Best game I ever attended. The tornado sirens could be heard from Legion Field, and nobody moved a muscle to leave!LOL

I was just a kid(15) but I remember it like it was yesterday.

I was there with my ex. It was the first Auburn game I ever took her to. When the stadium announcer said that there was a tornado warning and advised everyone to leave the stadium, she asked if we should go. I remember staring at her in amazement and saying, "This is the Alabama game!" We stayed.

1983 was the first Iron Bowl I attended. I was only 9 years old but I remember the tornado warning. I remember praying for safety & an Auburn victory. The Lord answered my prayers. We were totally soaked when we stopped to eat on the way home but after that game none of us minded at all.

Before kickoff, after heavy storms all night, the weather clears and Keith Jackson annnouces that "Bear Bryant" just showed up in reference to his passing the year before.

Holding on to tenuous lead in the 4th quarter the weather worsens and the wind changes to the favor of Auburn, Frank Broyles announces that "Shug Jordan" just showed up.

Little doc

Bought tickets for price outside the hotel where Auburn was staying and took the bus to the stadium....had seats on the Auburn side 50 yard line, remember seeing Bo's family sitting on the 40 yard line....the first of his 2 long runs was right in front of us....the place erupted.....but I do remember after the game fighting the get through the crowd outside the stadium...it seemed the Auburn side had to get to the other side and the bama fans had to get to the other...but who cared...we won!!!

I recall that at some point during the 2nd half the Good Year blimp headed for the airport and they asked the Auburn cheer leaders to turn off their amplifier so that people could hear any emergency messages over the stadium speakers. I was not too far form one of the exits and scouted out some shelter on the interior in case I had to make a run for it. I don't think anyone left in spite of the threatening weather. Amazing day!

I was sitting in the east upper deck. I was raining so hard. The tornado went over Legion Field. Praise God it didn't touch down. I remember pleading with family and friends to get out of the upper deck, their reply: "I pray we're ahead when this thing hits". Greg Carr's aunt and uncle were two of them. Now that's loyalty/insane, you decide. The WVA game was tough, but it was nothing compared to 1983 Auburn/Alabama.
