Lois Lerner's History of Sledgehammer Tactics Against Religious Groups

Recommended Posts

http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/irss-lerner-had-history-harassment-inappropriate-religious-inquiries-fec_725004.html

Examples of Lois Lerner's abuse:

1) While serving as the Chief of Enforcement at the FEC, under the Clinton administration, Lois Lerner demanded that the Christian Coalition submit over 100,000 pages of documents. The FEC has less than 400 employees. Do you really believe that she had her office read 100,000 pages ? No.

2) In this same case against the Christian Coalition, Lois Lerner subjected the organization to 81 depositions. An outrageous and senseless number of inquiries.

Interesting to note is that Lois Lerner left the Federal Election Commission with the change from Democrat to Republican leadership in 2001 only to re-emerge under the Obama administration to spread her damage further and destroy conservative opinion. This woman needs to be imprisoned.

Is it OK with you if we convict her first?

Nope.

Course not.

Mob mentality rules with you guys.

To bad she's not Muslim. You could just "disappear" her in Guantanamo. ;D

You have that backwards pal. Lois Lerner is the one who has already ADMITTED targeting conservative groups.....or, you might call that the Democrat "mob mentality" targeting Republicans. She should disappear in Leavenworth with all the other federal crackpots. Maybe even under Leavenworth.

One woman constitutes a "mob"?

And you really think she should be imprisoned - or killed - without even a trial?

BTW, that doesn't sound like the position of someone I'd care to call "pal".

You see Homer, she actually is/was (she has just been relieved of her duties at the IRS as of today) a coordinator of a mob that orchestrated persecution of conservatives........and has a long history of doing such. But how do you equate my single voice as being that of a mob ? I'm just typing away on a keyboard. It's not like I'm reading your IRS file and making punitive decisions against you.

Killed ? Where do you see any such suggestion by me ? You've outrun your coverage on that one.

"Pal" was in complete sarcasm.......wasted sarcasm I see.

I don't get the claim that conservative groups were "persecuted". audited. yes, which all people and groups are subject to, and wrongfully targeted to be audited but if they were on the "up and up" then what does an audit really mean? I think the whole damn thing is being blown way out of whack. just like all the other supposed scandals. I get sick of it. it reminds me of the cam newton, hbo4, Memphis, hoops point shaving, trailer park robbery, fake weed, real weed, grade changes, and I could go on. nothing sticks just wasted efforts to smear your opponent.

1) A "mob"? Have any support for that or is it just a rhetorical flourish?

2) Your statements are a very typical representation of mob "thinking" - no trial needed, let's lynch 'em!

3) You said (paraphrased) she could be put "under" Leavenworth. Sorry if I over-interpreted - no need to respond.

4) I understood it was sarcastic, which is why I responded with same.

Were they even "audited" or just subjected to a review for favored tax-status?

Really??? I don't like the allowance of the 501c4, etc....but there's no way the explain this stuff away. They (IRS) have already admitted to targeting groups. Deal with the fact that we have an over aggressive administration groomed on a system of Chicago style politics. The data supports a very intense effort to single these groups out. If the shoe were on the other foot, you guys would be screaming from sea to shining sea.

Apparently they all were on the up and up. None of the 100s audited were ultimately denied. They were just openly harassed by the IRS schlepps at the direction of some yet to be determined and imprisoned higher ups. The stinking part of all this was that only one or two types of groups were set aside to be audited.

i know you might not like it, but ALL people in the country are Constitutionally guaranteed the right to organize and to participate in the electoral process.

And those in power are restricted from using the govt from harassing the challengers.

They were denied their influence upon the election. An audit costs money to perform, real dollar costs to the one audited and the revenue they lost because of it. You do yourself no favor with your juvenile comments. This will trash the Obama administration agenda. So, maybe what has been done under Obama's watch will actually do some good for America in spite of the intention.

I hope this is not a juvenile question, but have you seen this real dollar cost or lost revenue? should you not already have your organization in position to handle an audit without a huge cost burden? I have not seen the extent to which these people were harassed or persecuted. enlighten me.

I know of one individual who spent $80,000 to comply with the IRS audit. He's frequently been on the news. Van der Sloot (sp?) is his name. He was audited twice and also endured a labor audit (all 3 audits within one year) after his name was put in the public eye by the Obama election campaign.

In another thread I posted this info (link-http://www.aufamily....he-irs-scandal/):

"When applying for non-profit status the agent is given 270 days, 9 months approximately, to process the application. If not processed within the 270 days a red flag is issued. Should the application continue to not be processed then every 30 days a report by the agent must be submitted explaining the status on each application.

President Obama's half-brother, Barack H. Obama, had his charity approved in 34 days. “It is illegal to operate for longer than 27 months without an IRS determination and solicit tax-deductible contributions.” This charity operated for several years without formal application for non-profit status. http://www.inquisitr...y-in-one-month/

300 groups were targeted by the IRS

Applications of the targeted groups took no less than 540 days (18 months) to over 1,000 days to process (36 months) IF they were processed"

I think the quote was U-Haul filled with documents and 1.5 or more years of fighting and expenses fighting with the IRS FOR NOTHING.

Well, since most of their effort (money) is supposed to be used for "social welfare" maybe they could have transfered some of that money to their political operations. ;):big:

Did the cost of these audits actually wipe out the total resources of any of these groups?

Alex is right on. No one agrees with what the IRS did and everyone supports letting the chips fall where they may in any investigation.

But you guys are reacting hysterically. And I suspect that has a lot more to do with your partisan politics than it does principal.

Newsflash Homer,

President Obama denounced the targeting practice this past week, Lois Lerner apologized for having targeted conservative charities, and the Treasury Inspector General has detailed the infractions in 54 page report ?

Oh, wait, I guess you watch MSNBC. They're still trying to blame Bush for everything.

Sorry, I am not sure I follow.

If Obama and Lerner have both apologized, what's all the hysteria about? The investigation is ongoing. Are you afraid they won't get to the facts or are you just more interested in speculation?

And I don't watch cable at all. My TV is broadcast only. My news comes from NPR/PBS and the internet.

According to you, they were denied a political outcome-- influence on an election. Of course, the irony is that they were claiming tax exempt status because they were not political. They were delayed in defrauding the American people-- which somehow outrages you.
