Gus Visits Recruit at 3 a.m.

Sorry if this is old news, but If Y'all didn't already know, I thought you may enjoy the below read about how Peyton Barber flipped from Ole Miss to the good Guys! Remember, Gus only needs about 2 or 3 hours of sleep per night!

"Peyton Barber said he was blown away after Auburn coach Gus Malzahn showed up at 3 a.m. in the morning in a hotel lobby to greet him. Barber, the 4-star running back from Milton High School, was committed to Ole Miss at the time, but decided to take a last-minute official visit to Auburn on the final weekend before signing day. He ended up signing with the Tigers a few days later"

So, are you saying those using the blue background have a problem reading the following? I copied and pasted it from right above. "For all members, when you copy and paste something please highlight the copied text and then click on the eraser looking thing in the top left of the dialogue box so those of us using blue background can read the text. Calm down people. We should be happy to help our fellow members out. My post was not meant in an angry tone as some of you apparently took it. And it's not a recruiting thing only phan. I say that anywhere I see that issue arise. Here's the sitch. Most internet sites use a white back ground with black colored font. When it's copied on AUF it stays black. Black is very hard to read on navy blue background. So it would be helpful to those who use blue background if when pasting text that a poster take 2 extra seconds to click on remove format so the text appears white on the blue background and black on the white background.

Not even an entire week has passed and the bloom is off the rose. How dare you look out for the Blue's as well as the White's E? You former AE guys are all the same... :poke:

*Yes I came over from AE as well but I have learned not to judge others because of their background color so it's okay.

Using the eraser after pasting to remove any formatting also solves the really small font issue, too. Just do it. Everybody happy, happy, happy.

Like this? "Using the eraser after pasting to remove any formatting also solves the really small font issue, too. Just do it. Everybody happy, happy, happy." I used the eraser on the preceding quote.

I hope nobody took my remark as a complaint. I was just curious about the situation and if I'd fixed it. Normally, when I complain there is no doubt, nothing vague or confusing. When I complain the (clearly) guilty parties are pointed out and laughed at in a manner that's obvious to even the most dense bammer that might have wandered into this site.

Look for Saban to be pushing for a rule change to stop these late night/early morning meetings in the future.

Also, while this article has a "complimentary" feel to it, I have lived in Atlanta for too many years to believe that this article had all good intentions behind it. The underlying tone is one of "how did Auburn get these players out of GA, and get them to flip so late in the game?".

Que the next NCAA investigation in 3....2......1.....

i'll be honest ... i'm not sure a i consider a 3 a.m. meeting with a teenager as a positive ... regardless of the coach doing it and where the kid ended up. these are the kind of things that are putting too much pressure on young men. these are the kind of things i wish coaches did not feel the need to do.

I think everyone may be overblowing this a little bit. If you read the story, it's pretty clear that Barber didn't decide to leave for Auburn until around midnight. So it's easy to assume that he called the coaches to let them know he and his family were coming and arrived at the host hotel around 3 a.m. where Gus welcomed them. It's not like Gus went out of state and was having a clandestine meeting at a hotel somewhere. 99.9% sure this happened in downtown Auburn.

Now, would most coaches do that? Probably not. But I wouldn't say this was anything more than a "Hey, glad you could make it. Get some sleep and let's enjoy this weekend" type of conversation.

lol, some of you are more whiny and dramatic than a 15 year old school girl. Makes for a funny read though, so please, carry on.

To answer you Mikey, yes it worked.

If you use the white background and copy text and paste, without using the eraser, it shows up as black font on the blue background. Likewise, if you use the blue background and copy text and paste, without using the eraser, it shows up as white text highlighted in blue on the white background.

This is an example from AUF, formatting from other sites have other effects, obviously. Some are fine.

Thanks. I've never used anything but the white background so I didn't understand what the problem was.
