ANOTHER Nick Marshall pass but this time, IT'S 75 YARDS IN THE AIR.

I put up a thread about 2 weeks ago with a video of Nick Marshall throwing a pass 65-67 yards in the air off his back foot. That play can be seen here: http://www.aufamily....-i-the-47-mark/

As if that wasn't impressive enough, here is another one I came across. In this video, this time Nick is stepping into the pass and throwing the ball 75 yards in the air. That's right, 75 yards in the air, from his own 15 yard line to the opponent's 10 yard line by the arc of the ball, right hash mark to left hash mark, hitting the WR in full stride for a completion. What is just as impressive is that he makes it look almost effortless.

To say Nick Marshall has a bazooka for an arm would be an accurate statement. Again, I don't know which of the 4 QBs will win the job come 8/31, but the more research I am able to do on Nick, the more I like what I see.

The 75 yard pass play can be seen in the video below at the 1:27 mark.

There is also a 65 yard run for a TD you will like to see at the 1:55 mark.

Mississippi Bowl V, Dec.12, 2012, Garden City CC vs Co-Lin CC

I like the one at 2:21

Yes, that's a nice demonstration of him being able to get out of a pass rush and save the play for a short pass. I like his option/ run play for a 65 yard TD at the 1:55 mark too. He shows excellent speed on that play.

Yea he faked out the entire team (and even the camera for a split second lol)

Wow what a ball player. Glad he's on our side. Hope he gets to prove all the naysayers wrong for the next 2 years.

From the 15 to the 15 not the10 but really impressive.

Yes but it was a bit of a cross field throw so 75-80 yard throw is accurate.

NM's arm strength is impressive but aside from that and even more importantly IMO is his presence of mind and ability to instinctively make, at least it seems instinctive, quick decisions. He looks like the kind of competitor, who isn't preoccupied with the possibility of failure, that Auburn needs at that position. Best of luck to all the guys trying to beat him out! Him being with the team does nothing to enhance any of their chances of winning the job but again that's just how i see it.

He really is newton esque, both really know how to move around in the pocket to make the defenders miss. Also rocket arm. Hopefully Gus can turn another dual threat QB into a superstar.

More Dameyune-esque IMO.

Yes plus the fact that the WR caught the ball at roughly the 12-13 yard line in full stride and if you follow the trajectory of the ball it would land on the 10. Add in the cross field aspect and its all of 75-80 yards.

The more I see of him, the more I tend to agree with you on that and I'm sure glad Gus and DC were able get him on our team. I am still impressed with how effortless he threw the ball 75 yards in a game situation. Also, that one running play at the 1:55 mark, looked a lot like you know who. It looks like NM has some real running speed too. A canon for an arm, good running speed, good pocket awareness and confidence. That's a nice combination for Gus to begin to mold into something.

Kid looks really good, I wonder if we can get the guy in the band banging the cymbals he looks legit as well

I heard that the cymbals guy and Nick have been talking about going to school together for years now, since NM was in junior high and CG (Cymbals Guy) was getting started in band. Really!

Ironman, thanks for the link. Unless you really take a look and consider what NM actually did, it may not come across as that impressive from the footage. But....do the calculation and consider the potential. Just on that throw. Then there is that other one at 1:27 or whatever it was on the other highlight vid. Then there is the "that is just RIDICULOUS!" color commentary on his broken scramble.

My thought is that until Gus et. al. give us a reason to NOT trust him, then we should just go ahead and trust him and believe he knows what he is doing. He has stated that he is bringing NM to Auburn to quarterback. I trust Gus has seen much more film, talked to many more people, and has vast more experience, knowledge, guts, feel, and all that other stuff than all the rest of us combined.

If KF, JW, JJ, JS or any other current or potential AU qbs can hang with NM, then we will probably be in damn good shape. Let's let CGM and the rest of staff do what they are paid (well) to do, and look forward to a VERY interesting, exciting and entertaining summer and fall. One more point - Cam came to AU with something to prove. I imagine (and I am trying carefuly to not compare the two) NM has a few chips on his shoulders and things to prove as well. Dangerous combination of that with their athleticism for our opponents.

War Eagle! Is it end of August YET?????????

That guy was awesome! He could be a darkhorse bandmember of the year, in his first season. :muscles: E, how many years of eligibility does he have left, and has he used his redshirt? I would love to see what this guy could do for 2-3 years. War eagle! :rimshot:

Nice arm strength and very poised. If he has the accuracy and leadership to go along with it ..look out...

NM or Cymbal Guy because that really applies to both...

Yeah...but how is he at handing the ball off to the RB's? ;D

I didn't even think about that. That could take months and months, dang. :dunno:

I am still a bit tempered in my Nick Marshall excitement. Atleast when it comes to his passing ability. As awesome as his highlight tapes are, they are called HIGH light tapes for a reason. He threw 20 interceptions to his 18 TD's last year. If his YouTube videos included all the interceptions he was throwing along with the amazing plays, would you all still be raving about him and handing him the starting job in some instances?? I know there were some reasons (sub par protection) for all the INTs, but I need to see more than a 3 minute Internet video to know if I guy be a starting QB in the SEC and lead a team to W's.
