How good is Coach Craig?

Right now, DC is #1 in the 247 Coach Recruiter rankings. He has 74.58 points. Last year that would have been #9, but that was at the END of the year. There are still 8 months left until NSD 2014. A few more commits and he might hold onto #1.

What a steal. Still not sure how we got him after he declined the first time.

Coach Garner convinced him to come to Auburn.

Coach Gus never gave up + the fact that FSU denied his raise..

First time I have seen that. Craig said multiple times the reason was Garner. Garner was not on Auburn's staff when we offered Craig the first time.

We won't know how good he is until we see our WR guys hit the field for real this coming season. We just had some great recruiters here and that didn't work out so well. I want to see some WR guys get open, catch the ball and move it downfield before I talk too much about Craig.

My recollection is that FSU did give him a raise. Whether they matched Auburn's offer or not I don't recall.

Craig did receive a raise from FSU in Feb. 2012, but the speculated raise he was to receive for remaining at FSU had not been approved prior to him leaving for Auburn. He was still the lowest paid assistant on the FSU staff.

I believe I saw where he had two WR drafted in the first or second round over the last two drafts. It was in a quote from one of the WR he is currently after. I will see if I can find it.

He didn't coach WRs at FSU.

Any idea how the points system works?? It looks very confusing when a coach has four 4* commits yet he is behind in points to a guy that has two 4*s and one 3*, especially when coach #1 has a higher average player rating.

Well then whatever position it was, thats why I said I believe, and mentioned that it was in a quote and not something I knew to be a fact. It was one of the kids at the camp Sunday.

He was the QB coach and had Ponder and Manuel drafted in the first Round.

Not sure if there is a difference between a primary and secondary recruiter for a prospect but I know stars don't matter. Player point value does. 247 places a high value on the highest rated prospects in a team's or in this case a coaches class. For example, a coach with 2 high 4*s can easily have a higher value than a coach with 2 low 4*s and two 3*s.

Not being approved yet and denied it as you posted earlier are 2 different things.

Speaking of raises, imo DC needs a raise or some kind of bonus just on what he is doing so far. He is doing one great job in getting recruits and opening up new ground in a big way for Auburn. We haven't seen a lot on the videos, but in what little we have seen, it looks like he is a very detailed and serious WRs position coach.

I still can't believe we have both Craig and Rodney on our staff. I truly love it though. Thanks. Gus.

Now I can get on board with you on this one. If you had told me we would have gotten just one of them I would have been thrilled! Having both of them along with the rest has to be unsettling for the fans of that school to the west. Many of my leg-humping friends here in GA are bothered as well. They are not as worried about the 2014 class quite as much as 2015 and beyond.

Sooner or later someone will offer CDC a coordinating position. Hope we can hold on to him for some time. He sure can recruit!
