A case could be made for all three. I think the SEC is the hardest conference to go undefeated. Utah does play in a fairly weak conference. Mike Price has done more with less than almost any coach anywhere.

I disagree. We didnt let him go because of his coaching ability...we HIRED him for it. We let him go because of his lack of integrity off the field. And had we kept him, we would still be hearing about how we forego integrity for winning. Id rather be where we are now, than where we could be with a coach who doesnt believe in walking a straight line.

I don't disagree with Bama's reasoning for firing Price. But I did not put his name on this list as a dig at Bama. Price has done a great job coaching at UTEP this year and he will get serious consideration for Coach of the year.

You're right, BG. Keep him and you'd be criticised for putting winning above integrity--something you already had to deal with during Dubose's little "extracurricular" activities. (In fact, I think the fallout from Dubose's alleged sexual improprieties had a big part in forcing Bama's hand on the Mike Price situation). Let Price go and you get a little egg on your face because of his on-field success. It's a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation that I don't really hold against you.

But hopefully you also understand that's it's just the nature of our rivalry to want to rag each other about anything we can. So while I may take some glee in the frequent humorous embarassments Bama has shared with us over the last several years, my sense of humor doesn't blind me to reason.

But back to coach of the year--

CTT is hands-down the obvious SEC Coach of the Year.

Equally obvious is that he has my vote for national honors. I think one should factor in what CTT dealt with in "jet-gate" last year this time, as well as breaking in yet another new offensive scheme in the spring, and he still came back to go 11-0 and and be in the running for the MNC while playing in the SEC.
