A Culture Of Waste

Redstone Arsenal was closed today for o apparent reason. The arsenal hosts several military commands and the Marshall Space Flight Center. These have thousands of civil servants and supporting contractors. Wit the several tornados in the area at night, there was good reason to allow many employees off, but not to close the whole place. Most of the contractor facilities just of base were open Even city schools were open until noon. To me this is not so much a political thing as it is gov't decision makers not caring about wasting tax payer money. It seems to be a culture of waste. JMHO.

Agree 100% while it's easy to point fingers at the dems, (they do make it easy,) the culture of waste permeates all areas of the federal government. Over spending is entrenched in both political parties and an attitude of an unlimited supply of money is at all levels of the bureaucracy.

You were there for years PT. Do you remember spending like there was no end to it the last month of the year? Just to spend all that was budgeted for each and every department? They sure do it in the military. Or they used to back in the stone age when I was in.

Yep. They used to come around and tell us to spend the rest of our budget by Oct. 1 (end of Fiscal Year) or lose it. They would actually pave a perfectly good parking lot

rather than lose facility money. I almost got in trouble once for refusing to spend (waste) some money.
