Tre Mason, Marketing Guru?

Looks like Tre is already planning for his life after football.

Tre Mason Debuts “Mason Nation” Logo For His Marketing Firm

Former Auburn running back Tre Mason won’t officially be drafted by an NFL team until next week, but he’s all ready to go on the marketing front. Earlier today, it was announced that Mason, along with fellow former Tiger Dee Ford, had signed with Under Armour. But it also appears that Mason himself has started his own marketing firm (presumably to represent his brand) – titled “Mason Nation”. It looks like his mother, Tina, is also a part of the group.

Contradicting some of the info above,

Spoke to Tre Mason's mother & marketing manager who confirmed her son has not signed any sort of endorsement deal w/ any apparel company yet

I don't know the "ins and outs" of it but the NFL has it's own marketing deals for athletic wear and accessories and I expect players have to be careful setting up their own deals with companies that not affiliated with the NFL or have restricted rights.

Yeah... .but yes....check this link

Cam got fined for letting one of his UA items show during a game.

They just can't wear logos during game, warm ups, and official interviews I believe. Outside of that, they can do as they please.

Not exactly...I'm pretty sure the league has the rights to his game jersey, jersey number which Nike has locked up so UA can't market a competing line with NFL game jerseys. Cam can push the shoes and some other stuff but I expect the can't market things that compete with Nike.

But there is room to make money and I hope Tre is able to put together a marketing plan that brings him some extra money. RBs have a short career and like squirrels, it's good for Rs to store up nuts for the winter while they have the chance.
