Nic Ruffin Awarded today

Just saw that Nic Ruffin won a GA Athlete of the Year award. He won vs 10 to 12 others that had won Athlete of the Week awards. Two of the other Athlete of the Week winners were D Watson (QB signee of Clemson), and Tyler Queen (our 2015 QB commit from North Cobb).

This was on TV so I do not have a thread to send on. Ruffin was interviewed. What a bright kid. Says he will major in either Microbiology, or Wireless Engineering. He looks solid as a rock. Pretty cool and congrats to Nic.

Sounds like he's no academic slouch. Those are some pretty demanding majors. (He should choose Wireless Engineering -- there are more jobs. You know, if the football thing doesn't work out for him.) Hopefully he will be able to apply his smarts to the football field as well.

Congrats, Nick, and War Eagle!

(For those who don't follow recruiting too closely, Ruffin is a 4* CB that signed with us this year. Here is his thread in the recruiting forum.)

St Pius is a private Catholic school, solid academics are expected. They also build the whole person the baseball team comes out for our Challenger Baseball league (kids with disabilities) and buddies up with the kids, all of them have been awesome. Good to see him get some accolades.

Wow impressive, for him and his brother. Cannot wait to get him on campus, I can see him being an impact corner like Holsey was.

I think I remember that the coaches want him at safety, but I could be wrong on that.

Pretty sure it was Roberts the coaches wanted to move to safety, not Ruffin or Bessent.

You could be right, I don't really remember.
