Oregon State Fires Michelle's Brother

Why they did not fire this guy last March after 6 losing season is interesting. The members of the team started quitting and apparently there was a fan revolt too.

There is a rumor that the OSU AD heard that the old UCLA coach Ben Howland is interested in the job. So after all the starting players left or graduated and the fans threatened to drop support, he decided to fire Robinson.

The Oregon State Beavers have fired Craig Robinson as men's basketball coach, The Oregonian has confirmed.

The news was first reported by Sports Illustrated.

Oregon State officials have made no statement on the matter yet.

Robinson went 94-105 (39-69 Pac-12) since taking over in 2008, leading the Beavers to four College Basketball Invitationals, no NITs and no March Madness.

The move comes five weeks after Robinson and athletic director Bob De Carolis had an end-of-season review meeting to discuss Robinson's future with the program.

At that time Robinson had three years and $4 million remaining on his contract, terms thought to be too steep for Oregon State to afford paying to let him go.

Following that meeting, De Carolis issued a statement reaffirming support for Robinson, who is President Obama's brother-in-law. "I’m looking forward to watching Coach Robinson continue to build our program," De Carolis wrote at the time. "He is a man of great character and someone who represents Oregon State University with integrity. I ask for your continued support of Beaver basketball."

Since then, three players have elected to leave Robinson's program with eligibility remaining: Challe Barton, who'll play overseas; Hallice Cooke, who will transfer; and Eric Moreland, who declared for the NBA draft.

Pair that with the graduations of guard Roberto Nelson, forward Devon Collier and center Angus Brandt, and OSU now has one player (guard Langston Morris-Walker) who averaged more than 11.4 minutes per game for a 2013-14 team that fell to Radford in the first round of the CBI.

Fortunately for obama he isn't held accountable for performance like his bil.

the former POTUS agrees

Yes, he agrees that obama is lucky too. I'm fairly certain of that, but thanks for pointing it out.
