kelley, late of Clemson is looking at Bama and apparently Bama made an offer to a kid from Texas or somewhere after a recent camp ...in addition to a couple other offers.

Must makes me wonder, if being a game manager at bama is so easy, why are NS and LK going through so many QBs looking for someone to play this season or the next. Of all the 5* players they recruit/offer/sign seems to me that to knotch QBs have some concern about playing at Bama?

In recent history, bammer QBs sort of die on the vine after playing for nickapolean. That's not very inspiring to any kid with NFL dreams. Plus....would you want to live in T-town if you had better options? Other than football,it doesn't have much to offer.

If the Nicktator ever goes senile and considers altering his offensive philosophy slightly as to where it might become more attractive for top flight QB prospects, he might truly become a dangerous skipper. I know, I know...if it ain't broke don't fix it, but it's not as if trying something new would mar his collegiate success up to that point.

For a quick reference, look no further than the past 5 years and look at the success Jim Harbaugh had recruiting Andrew Luck, and how he still flourished when David Shaw took the helm at Stanford.

....and even Winston at Free Shoes.

UAT's been averaging 35+ppg on offense for the last 5 yrs doing what they do with mediocre to average QB performance. I can't see Saban doing much but tweeking things a little on offense and coupling that with a top shelf defense. Of course that says nothing about their special teams that ended up being a detriment to them at times last year. Top QB's want to play for innovative offensive minds like Gus ~ Rhett ~ Petrino ~ Sumlin ~ etc.

It's not like Nick isn't getting 5-star QB recruits. He just can't coach them worth a crap.

What's Fisher supposed to say? "He couldn't beat out a freshman so, good luck with that, Nick."

How about nothing at all? :big:

Those 5 stars were stardust if they couldn't beat out McElroy or McCarron.

Their QBs are coached up alright...just to take no unnecessary risks, and minimize turnovers.
