Hats Off to Pope Francis

Recommended Posts

I'm not Catholic but I salute Pope Francis for a real accomplishment today. He had senior Israeli, Palestinian, and Christian representatives meet together in the Vatican garden to pray for peace. Each prayed according to his own belief. Horseface Kerry couldn't pull that off in million years.

And of course, if Obama did it, it would be a cheap, narcissistic publicity stunt.

Wow. Great job working in the Kerry slam-- even his physical appearance-- in a supposed compliment to the Pope!!

Regardless of your faith or lack there of, I'm certain Pope Francis' sincerity in his actions and words are without question. I'm not as certain about ANY politician. Most are professional liars.

Pope Frank has 'em running in circles.

Redistribute the wealth ! Yay!

No gay marriage ! What, huh ?

That whole snippet about "wealth redistribution" that the media latched onto, was to say the least, misrepresented. Pope Francis was essentially referring to Christ's proclamation that to whom much is given, much will be required. It wasn't that he was espousing a socialist ideology. And yes, I do believe in charity and helping those that try to help themselves. The whole "a hand up not a hand out" theory.

TT.....sorry my truthful comments bother you. Maybe you can tell us something that Obama or Kerry (or any senior Administration official) has done lately that is significant, good, handled well, and truthful with a non-controversial outcome.

I know you guys want to cast me as a cheerleader for the administration, but what I'm typically responding to is the incessantly bitter and irrational critique that you guys are obsessed with. There's a space in between blind support and blind hatred, but you're too afflicted to realize it or have that conversation.

Bitter ? Yes. Irrational ? Not remotely. But the Left does that, making such claims that ANY critique of Obama is " irrational " ( or worse ) simply to derail any honest debate or discussion.

Name calling and ' But Bush ' retorts are all the Left has to offer.

TT....please tell me what I have posted that is irrational or untruthful. I don't wan to hate anyone but every time I see him now espousing his garbage and lies I want to puke. And how about responding to the rest of my post.

Look PT, you started a post about the Pope but still felt compelled to throw in a bit of poo flinging at "horse-faced" Kerry.

That's pathetically humorous. You folks are obsessed with Obama, which is OK, but don't get all huffy when someone points it out.

Even this post has got to vent a little spleen. :-\

Lighten up Francis. It was a joke. Funny how you scold others for not being able to handle parodies and humor and here you are whining because someone made a joke about Kerry and the fact that he looks like the love child of Lurch and Mr Ed.

Why can't we all laugh at these politicians? Everybody laughed at all of the Bushisms. I thought they were hilarious. Even though to this day, GWB is more of a man than all of us combined.

Do you really think the OP is funny?

I probably wouldn't have included the jab, but it made me laugh. You never laughed at the Bushism videos? They were hilarious.

99.9% of the time it is but some good might come from it. ;)

:rimshot::lmao:

(...that was another joke, right?)

No.

Well, surely you can understand my confusion, since:

1. This board has several thousand members. Unless he's Superman, Captain America, and George S. Patton all rolled into one, I think it's mathematically impossible for him to be more of a man than all those members combined.

2. Many on this board are current or former service men and women who have fought in wars, risked their lives, and gone in harm's way...rather than campaigning for Winton Blount while assigned to the Alabama Air National Guard. We also have a number of law enforcement personnel as members who risk their lives every day.

3. I'm not even sure he qualifies as the "manliest" man in his own administration, given that Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, and most particularly Colin Powell held three of the top positions in his cabinet.

But you are, of course, entitled to your opinion.

Over-analyze much? Reading posts like the one above, I ask myself, "Why do I allow myself to come into this forum, where after reading stupid posts, I am reminded that people like this are actually walking amongst us?" Good grief.

You should not blame someone else. You typed it. You typed a statement based on nothing but rhetoric, no facts, no critical thought. Defend it, or don't but, don't just blame someone else for shooting it down. That only serves to make you wrong twice. It makes YOU one of those people "walking around amongst US".
