If we're not going to expand, can we at least get a little exterior face lift?

I would LOVE to see the North Endzone bricked up on the outside. I think that it would complete the brick look that we have going on A) all over the rest of the campus (literally, every. single. building.) as well as B) the rest of the stadium.

Bricking up Neyland did WONDERS for how it looked for UT. It now looks fantastic, and has been even more of a recruiting tool.

A partial brick up perhaps. That area under the end zone is very small for the number of people that need to move around in it. The extra corner exits were added there because it was so congested after the WVU rain game. So keeping it open for ventilation helps the people there. If bricked up, another exit ramp is needed in the middle of the stands. It might be better to add some sort of metal decorative grids to the outside. Keeping in mind that what ever is done could be throw away money if the north upper deck is built.

I honestly think they are holding off waiting to see what the future holds in terms of expansion ... i.e., if we end up expanding, it makes no sense to start putting up a cosmetic front ... then again, we've always heard about the 'master plan' ...

We need to exspand Jordan-Hare. With coach Malzahn, the Tigers are going to keep winning and therefore the need for tickets will go crazy. We must have a lot more seats. Close end one of the endzones.

I agree with you. It's time to move the current jumbotron to the North endzone and brick up the exterior. Simultaneously add the luxury boxes and 2 jumbotrons to the South endzone. We would be set and JH would look fantastic. If we ever actually need more general admission seats, the North endzone expansion can always be done at that time. Let's buy the bricks, hire some brick masons and get some bricks laid.

Just curious, but why would you move the jumbotron? It seems to me that would be a ton of added work rather than just adding the luxury boxes and extra jumbotrons to the North endzone.

I'm an architect and I'll tell you there are lots of cool things that could be done. That side has bothered me for years.

Any ideas come to mind? It's the off season and I need something football related, even if it's remodeling the stadium.

Yes, it could be done either way. The master plan I saw had the luxury boxes and 2 new corner jumbotrons in the South endzone, so I just stayed with that.

I don't think expansion is the way to go. I think we should focus on improving the gameday experience, from in stadium upgrades to exterior upgrades. Our stadium already holds nearly 90,000, is loud as hell, and a great home field advantage.

This is Jacobs plan, based on what I've read recently. He doesn't want to enter an arms race with the sec teams , he does want fan experience to improve. I'll look for the link tonight

I personally think just adding a North Upper Deck would be the last seating expansion to Jordan-Hare Stadium I would ever do. I don't want Auburn to be like Alabama and have a 100,000+ seat stadium.

I think somewhere between 94,000-95,000 seat capacity would be perfect for Auburn. We could still keep the big JumboTron in the South endzone and just add two big screens in each corner of the North endzone.

That won't make the upper deck ramp fans that happy. There are a lot them that stand there the entire game.
